SF Mayor: Daniel Lurie's likeness lands in mailboxes by the thousands
Though it might pale in comparison to the 132-page paperback biography distributed by former Mayor Ed Lees supporters in 2011, the mailers boosting mayoral candidate Daniel Lurie this year are heavy and hitting mailboxes early.
The independent expenditure committee backing Lurie has recently sent out a 12-page rundown of Luries life, career and candidacy, as well as broadly mailed campaign signs ready-made for residents windows.
The cost to print such campaign literature is substantial, but money is no obstacle to the committee, which is backed by a $1 million donation from Luries mother, Levi Strauss heir Mimi Haas.
Lurie is one of several prominent candidates hoping to deny Mayor London Breed a second full term in office. Though election day is months away, the strategies deployed by their mayoral campaigns are beginning to crystallize as Breed fends off challenges from Lurie, two sitting supervisors and a former interim mayor.
