NY: Judge denies effort to remove former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren from city judge ballot

Rochester, N.Y. — A judge has ruled former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren can remain on the city court judge ballot following a recent effort to remove her from the running.

Fellow Rochester City Court judge candidate Michael Geraci recently filed a petition claiming Warren also filed to run for the Monroe County Democratic Committee. He argued the offices are incompatible.

However, the judge in the case says Warren was not aware her name was put on petitions for the Democratic committee.

Warren resigned as mayor in 2021 as part of a plea deal related to allegations of mishandled campaign finance funds.
