Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican candidate, easily won the state on Tuesday with 78.3 percent of the vote, continuing his dominance overall in the GOP primary, but the former South Carolina governor still received 21.7 percent of the vote in Indiana, a total that amounted to more than 128,000 votes.
There have been signs, however, that the former president is struggling to garner key support from GOP voters beyond his MAGA base, including more moderate Republicans who may be vital to Trump's hopes of taking back the White House from President Joe Biden in November.

(68,980 posts)We can win without Georgia. I think there is a good chance we take North Carolina this year. Roe Roe your vote. Not only will Biden win, but I predict we make serious gains in the the House and keep the Senate.

The GOP barely won the House in 2022. It wasn't a wave, but they did regain control, so Democrats haven't won every election since 2016. It just didn't hurt do bad because we held the Senate and the MAGA folks prevented the rest of the GOP from being at all functional.

(68,980 posts)We could take it. If there are enough voters who don't want Trump. It is unlikely but not impossible.

You might appreciate this. Obama made a campaign appearance in northern Indiana. The talking heads, clueless as they are, said the county was "largely African American." It wasn't. Especially not back then. I remember turning to my husband and saying, "Do you hear that sound?"
"What sound?" he said.
"The sound of heads exploding south of here." Even in northern Indiana we have rednecks.

(68,980 posts)the long primary with Hillary made in necessary to have offices in all states...and that was also when Dean was chairman...why he didn't stay I will never know but I digress. The folks I need say that opening an office in Virginia is why we won the state in 08 and have continued to do so.
