I think the defense is pushing for that one juror to disagree.

'Cause they got nothing else. Their cross on Cohen is going to be a sh!t show. TFG will demand it.

But I doubt any jail time. He'll probably get probation which he'll claim is "total exoneration" again, and which he'll just blow off and no one will dare call him on it.

as anyone else in his position would be... I'd settle for an ironclad conviction and house arrest at Mar a Lago - as long as he's surrounded by security at all times, with an ankle bracelet and any other supervisory equipment they could utilize, including a CCTV so he can be seen at any time, anywhere on his property. He wants all this surveillance equipment on all the common people, so do it to him first so he gets a real good idea of what it feels like. I'd say broadcast the DNS so any American citizen can check in on him, if they so chose. He likes doxxing people so much!

In his case it’s mansion arrest. So no. Confine him to the smallest bedroom on the property with a bath attached. Door comes off the bath. Brick over the windows. Replace bedroom door with iron bars. 24/7 guards and video surveillance of the room. No TV. No internet. No phone. No privacy. Prison food only. Prison garb only. Shower works for ten minutes three times a week. Lights on a timer. Bed is a prison bunk. No other furniture. No heat. No air conditioning. He is taken in cuffs to meet with visitors in another room. Make home confinement as much like actual prison as possible, and it could work for everyone. Even the ones who have to guard/protect him. They could utilize the rest of the property so it wouldn’t have to be the assignment from hell for them.

that’s what he gets.

Oh, I forgot. No makeup. And he is confined in NY where the case is being tried. Mar a Lardo has a pool and a beach. No.

Now just think about this for a second: no makeup. Let's add no hairspray and no hair dye.*

He would have to look at himself for real for a long, long time. Every day: see that bald head, impossible to keep that hair up and wrapped around it. Scary.

R-E-A-L-I-T-Y

Just dealing with reality as a defendant has been very, very difficult for him. To me, it's fascinating how he's built a world of his own liking around himself, and was able to do it because of inherited money.

He's never lived in the real world and what's even more incredible is that he's gotten so many other people to buy into his unreal world (election fraud). Millions!! You can't make this stuff up.

* I'm pretty sure he dyes it because Lawrence said he hadn't seen him for a long, long time and then when he was seated behind him in court, he was struck by the hair being the same color.

1,230 views and not one person has posted that you are wrong, trump will not be held responsible, the justice system is f@#$ed, etc.

You have just violated Rule One and that is to voice an optimistic thought.
on edit: oops. See post 3.

I agree it's not looking good for him. I am actually rather surprised at how poorly his lawyers are handling this case.

But all in all, the documentation (the checks, the phone call) is there. It's kind of hard to argue with it.

I have to hand it to Alvin Bragg and his team. It certainly seems like they did a superb job of putting that evidence together.

I’m hopeful that this judge will make his sentencing decision based on what similar defendants have received.

I think he will.

DUers somehow know how great I am at tennis predictions (just ask malaise), so they figure I’m right again.

Seriously, it is interesting, isn’t it? But give it time…

Re: your last pgh, one thing that has impressed me is the order of the presentation of evidence. For example, had Michael Cohen gone first, there would have been endless discussion in court and in the media about whether he could be believed. But with the documentation presented earlier, cohen’s story will be shown to be credible.

I'm an impatient person, so I try to pad my guesses keeping my inherent bias minimized. Seems my forced patience wasn't as warranted as I'd thought, and here we are, listening to daily proceesings from one of his many court trials.

Looking pretty bad for trump these days. So bad, I expect some sealions unctuously lecturing us how this is "bad news for dems."

Even if Trump is found guilty, just think of how many years of appeals there would be.
If and when Trump reaches the end of his appeals, the claim will then be made that he is too I'll (dementia for example) to ever be imprisoned. Perhaps that will be very evident before it reaches that point.

DU needs to remember the end of the movie "A Princess Bride" when the boy asks his grandpa (Peter Faulk), "Who kills Humperdinck?" Grandpa answers, "Nobody, he lives".
Real life is not a fantasy no matter how hard you wish for it to be.
