Tuesdays winner (Bacon) will face State Sen. Tony Vargas, a Democrat who ran unopposed in his party's primary Tuesday. Bacon beat Vargas by a 51%-49% margin in 2022, and won his previous races by similarly thin margins. In a presidential election year where turnout figures to be high, Democrats see an opportunity in November.
