https://www.editorialboard.com/in-asking-if-biden-is-responsible-for-roes-fall-the-times-misinforms-the-public/I have to apologize in advance. Im going to write about the Times again. What it did is too important to overlook.
What did the Times do? One of the questions in that recent Times poll I was telling you about, the one about Donald Trump being ahead of Joe Biden in five swing states, was about abortion.
Specifically, the question was about whos more responsible for the end of Roe and national abortion rights: Is it Donald Trump or Joe Biden?
Its a trick question, and the pollster asking that trick question should have told the person on the phone just kidding just kidding Biden had nothing to do with it! It was all Trump. It was he who appointed the justices who struck down Roe. Indeed, hes taken responsibility for it.
Its not an open question. Its not a debate. Whos responsible is settled. Trump says he did it. Joe Biden says he did it. Anti-abortionists credit Trump. Abortion-rights defenders credit Trump. Everyone whos participated in abortion discourse knows who did what to whom.
It may be the closest well get to a national consensus on anything.
Yet the Times decided to wonder and the results are as expected.

OP
Polls are very easy to manipulate by phrasing questions that lead the respondents.

Inserting bias is easy. Do you agree that Joe Biden should have prosecuted Donald Trump for January 6? Yes or no.
Writing neutral polls requires an understanding of how easy it is for bias to creep into questions. One would think pollsters would know this, but I think the NYT has an anti-Biden agenda, most likely because Sulzberger got his shorts in a knot over Biden not inviting him to the WH for a personal interview. Trump gave him an interview twice.

I am just asking they not be biased in favor of the rapist.

Hey Times! My intent is NOT to give you any ideas.
