Neil Young is calling Internet piracy the new radio. What does that mean exactly?
Well, according to the Rock legend, the Internet -- and all its many locations to hear tunes at no charge -- is a massive channel that artists and fans should view as a chance to advertise and hear sample songs for free.
In a recent interview with D: Dive Into Media, the Classic Rock Crooner supports illegal MP3 downloads, but laments the quality.
"It doesn't affect me because I look at the Internet as the new radio. I look at the radio as gone... Piracy is the new radio. That's how music gets around," he says.
