Santorum: Women Are Capable Of ‘Flying Small Planes’
The Pentagon announcement easing the ban on women serving in combat led Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum to express his concerns that missions could be put in jeopardy “because of other types of emotions that are involved.”

later in the article -which has a clip on it says that Santorum said:

SNIP:

He says, “It’s not a matter of putting women in dangerous roles.” He tell[s] me, for example, that women are fully capable of “flying small planes.”

I wonder how small of planes we are capable of flying.

She won't release it until the Lord of the Manor orders her to, but I am sure she would come out fighting upon his order. Of course, I'll bet that there are many times when she thinks to herself, as her husband works himself up into a froth over a tempest in a teapot and says something ultra-stupid, "I married the biggest ass in the country."

about must be that the women in combat will lure the male soldiers into the bushes for something other than fighting. His time must be taken up with dirty thoughts.

/on edit/

Fun facts: Maj Jensen's Stratofortress has a wingspan of 185 feet. The distance of Orville Wright's flight, 17 Dec 1903 Kitty Hawk NC, was 120 feet. Loaded for bear, her aircraft weighs in at 265,000lbs. 70,000lbs of mixed ordnance.

LOL, one of my husband's best friends from high school is an airline pilot who is married to an airline pilot. And considering she flies a route to Asia on a regular basis, her plane is kind of BIG. Would President Santorum try to push airlines to see the light?

What a very weird guy.

Coming from those pressing a theocratic agenda.

The domineering patriarchal imperatives are under full attack and quickly losing relevance. Some dudes are completely threatened. If their "god" given authrority to be the boss of everyone is nullified then what do they have that will make them feel important and have purpose?

So what's left but to create bills and laws to counter the perceived attack on their very relevance?

Like this one, pictured with its pilot...

Maj. Shawna R. Kimbrell, 555th FS, is the first African-American female fighter pilot in the
Air Force. (USAF photo by A1C. Ashley Wood)

The U.S. Air Force began accepting women as fighter pilots in 1993. By 2008, the USAF had 70 women fighter pilots--and they had been flying combat missions in Iraq for years by then. Seems Ricky lost that number...

She logged in 6,750 flight hours on 30 different aircraft. Second women to complete test pilot school.

Tough question: Who do you think knows more about danger, Ricky or Col Collins?
