An annoying RW caller led me to a great "defense" ...

The other day, I was driving along in the Cleveland area, listening to a Youngstown talk station (mainly because you really can't hear any "liberal" talk in the Cleveland area ... there is one radio station north and east of Cle, but it apparently is powered by a dead hamster).

A woman called in, talking about the fracking going on in the Y-town area, and was saying about how people should just go and see for themselves what "good" the fracker companies do, with their big trucks and drilling and whatnot (in other words, destroying the roads and such).

The next caller was a real trip.

First off, he came damn close to claiming that the previous caller must have been having her period ... he was doing plenty of female-bashing. He said, among other things, that "someone must have run over some flowers or something" to get her riled up. He then said that people needed to understand that the damage done will be just fine if they (the frackers) clean up after themselves when they're done. Then he said "Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet."

hmm ...

Then he went into a rant about the "inheritance tax". (I was surprised he actually used the term). Started out about how he was the "first-born", who apparently, at least in his own eyes, was the only one of the offspring that actually did anything with the life they've been given. When Daddy kicked off, the "liquid assets" went to his younger brothers and sisters, and he was "left with the property", which he had "improved".

He claimed that he had to scrape up money to pay the "inheritance taxes" ... he brushed off the moderate/left hosts point about how there was a multiple-million exemption before he would actually have to pay on the "inheritance". I don't quite remember, but I think that the caller whined about how his siblings didn't help him out paying his share.

Then it hit me ...

I wanted so much to be the next caller ... I would have loved to say "Hey, that guy was telling the woman that 'you need to break a few eggs', and then he went on and complained about his situation. Well, WELCOME TO BEING ONE OF THE EGGS, jerkwad!"

we thank you, because, even if you didn't get to use that line--you may have provided a comeback niyad Feb 2012 #1

his analogy was bad and you most certainly could have had fun trying to explain it...

"...damage done will be just fine if they (the frackers) clean up after themselves when they're done..."

problem is... the big guys NEVER clean up after themselves; i.e. pay all the external costs of their ventures
