Isn't it clear these people are just using their church position to make biased political statements that have nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the GOP. The new neoconservative is more interested in political power and using their position to further party positions than their actual job. This is true of that nut in planned parenthood, every nut at FOX news, heck the NRA leadership has been at it for years, most of Cheney's civil hirings during the Bush years and apparently now the Catholic church leadership. It's the same shit, different location. They all do the same crap and none of it is focused on doing their actual calling or job.

That's why 90+% of Catholics use contraception, and remain part of an organization that stops others from doing so. It is not what they do, it is what they can make others do. Take the great Rick Warren Prays at the Oath of Office routine, in which it was so important to get a hate preacher to pray prior to the oath 'to honor Christ' Well Christ said only hypocrites pray in front of others and that all oaths are from evil. They wanted to do prayers for each other, then swear an oath to God, what God told them to do is without merit in any way.
