It seems to me that the MSM - in addition to MSNBC - is picking up on the meme that Obama is all but a shoo-in for the fall. That meme is buttressed by nothing but good news for Obama - from the economy to winning the contraception war to winning the payroll extension battle to rising poll numbers - and nothing but bad news for Rs of every stripe.
There hasn't been a feel-good story for any R in months. The presidential candidate fight is a clown show, the Congressional Rs look like ideological wimps, Scott Walker is going to get recalled, voters turned back Kaisich's anti-union deal in OH, and on and on it goes. Komen disaster. CPAC crazies. It's really sort of unbelievable.
And the RW pundits and media are only adding to the Republic woes.

(24,399 posts)People will be sick of negative ads by the fall campaign. The RW billionaires can spend all they want on negative ads against Obama, but they won't have any effect if the public is at the point where negative ads have the opposite effect of their intent.
That leaves them with the option of running positive ads about their candidate, and whether that's Willard or Mr Frothy, there won't be all that much positive to say. And all the Obama campaign has to do is replay footage of the RW candidates beating up on each other.

(25,183 posts)to preserve the Senate, and take back the House. That's more than enough reason to go to the polls.
Frankly, it might be a damned good idea to divert any money you'd give towards the President's re-election, and send it to your local Democratic House member, or Senator.

(4,982 posts)Ie: voter ID to keep millions from voting. I'm sure the Kochs and Rove have a few choice tricks up their sleeve. Don't get complacent. We have to work to GOTV. Don't take anything for granted, not after 2000. It's a long time between now and November. A lot of shit can happen (or pukes can pull a lot of shit).
