Since Lady Blah Blah quit her government job in Anchorage, what has gone on in Alaska?

Did she leave behind a mess? How's the budget? That kind of thing.

There must be an unusually high demand for ice there, because market forces (not global warming or the Arctic Oscillation) have caused an unusually high supply of ice. It even made resupplying fuel for Nome an iffy proposition. However, due to lower seasonal demand for snow and ice, the market is expected to correct, and the supply of snow and ice will retreat to the higher elevations in the next few months. When it does, you'll once again be able to see Russia from your kitchen window.
