Can you believe the GOP went after Clint Eastwood with that much venom over a car ad?

Clint Eastwood for crying out loud. I mean his old movies have been just about all that has been playing on cable TV around here for the past few months. Hell, I even caught myself watching a couple of them. And he is always the good guy. Even when he does bad things he ends up being the good guy in all his movies.

Then after all that the GOP goes after him with both barrels over an automobile ad.

Geebuz, talk about stepping in it. Think about that.

Must have been the, "Halftime in America", comment that put them over the edge. They remember Reagan using, "Morning in America", during his reelection?

Something made them go over the deep end.

promoting the death of the US auto industry - that has backfired big time.
The ad brought it all home to Michigan. I'm lovin' it.

The way they see it, Eastwood should have read the anti-union, anti-bailout memo before praising auto workers, so he deserves the flak he gets from them.

They are trying to set up some meme in the minds of the voters that they can work into a campaign theme. They need to distract and divide as they always do.

It's even funnier when you consider Eastwood's an Eisenhower conservative/social Libertarian, an ideal that the GOP would likely have far more success with than the whack-a-loon, anti-science, anti-worker, anti-woman, anti-gay and anti-progress model they're running headlong into the abyss with now.
