TX GOP Senate Candidate Craig James Claims That Being Gay Is A Choice That Will Be Punished By God

Texas Republican senate candidates Craig James, a former NFL player, and Ted Cruz went after former Dallas mayor Tom Leppert (R) for marching in a gay pride parade during a debate yesterday in an effort to portray Leppert as “pro-gay” and out of touch with conservative values. Both men pledged to stay away from gay festivities if elected and James went so far as to suggest that being gay is a choice that will be punished by God:

Why is it all these christians worship a god they think is too weak to handle punishment on his own? Seriously. If you are into diety worship, should not your diety be more powerful than you?

These people are like those whiners in high school who derived such self righteous joneses off of turning in other students.

lot considering we are talking about my opinion of the conduct of God), being Republican is a choice that will be punished by God.

My opinion may not be worth much on this issue, but then neither is that of the esteemed senator.

I was thinking the exact same thing.....

I mean, if you believe in the God of their bible, Republicans and Teabaggers are like the Scribes and Pharisees.

They do everything Jesus said Not to do, so really, what the hell good is that faith? You can claim to be a follower while doing none of the work. Because after you steal from the sick and kick the needy in the teeth and rob the widows, you're "forgiven."

It's lamer than hell. And so are Republicans.
