Anybody else notice

that the entire Republican presidential field is composed of vicious, mean, ugly, lying, mirthfully cruel, dark-hearted, cunning, spider-minded, internally-constantly-screaming, dead-eyed profiteering torture-lovers?

It’s like Darwin’s gauntlet for bad people. The peak of pustulous throwback evil.

They don’t hide it anymore; they flaunt it. And Republicans aren’t satisfied at all with the levels of darkness; they want their leaders to be much, much more Sauron-like. They long for a mass-murderer with the balls to Just Do It, and none of these milque-toast candidates will shed all semblance of reason and logic and get down in the Moloch mud and shout for the blood of millions to be poured over their writhing bodies.

It’s not even funny anymore. They want to End It All. They are screaming for Night To Fall. They’re the tribe of cannibalistic troglodytes from Quest For Fire, and whoever ends up winning the nomination, they’re going to pull about 43%.

It’s fucking scary.

It's particularly disturbing that they aren't trying to hide it anymore. I believe it's because Bush/Cheney got away with so much criminal activity that they gave it a legitimacy it shouldn't have.

His job? Teaching interrogation technique. Great, now even torturers are running in the GO"P camp. They just don't fucking care to even try to hide it anymore.

This last weekend they were interviewing some of the people "on the street" after they held a local meeting for Ron Paul here, and 2 of the 6 people had some of their words bleeped when they mentioned President Obama in their comments to the street reporter.

The camera switched back to the studio where the news anchor was sitting and she had her mouth gaped open because she is not originally from here.
She recovered pretty fast, but it looked kind of odd to see someone in shock from what they hear people say here about Democrats.

Early on in this process I looked at the candidates and thought they were all jokes. My guess at the time was that they were straw men, meant to be cut down and, in that process, fatigue the GOPs opponents and all voters to the point that, when they introduce their REAL intended candidate, that people just wouldn't give enough of an F to fight against the GOP's chosen one.

But this process has gone on long enough that I changed my mind, and decided that the GOP was intentionally throwing this election. My figuring was that our national situation is still so FUBARed that the GOP still doesn't want to be responsible for trying to fix it.

However, just recently, they guy I originally thought would be brought forward as the GOPs real candidate was reported to have made a quiet, rational statement regarding the Republican primaries and what the mess all the candidates are. It was just the kind of back pocket little probe I'd expect from a certain campaign manager, a feeler to see if the time is right to spring a surprise.

So I'm back to expecting, any day now, a dark horse GOP candidate to emerge in a way that totally blasts apart what at this time is the expected primaries process, and which will be such big news that it will drown out attempts to criticize this new candidate. You will be horrified when he appears (rightly so, in my opinion) and considering their choices, Republicans will flock around him like paparazzi around a drunken diva.
