Not sure why Mitt rented such a huge venue to present to such a pipsqueak audience, but it sure makes for a great opposition visual. I'm nearly convinced the Republicans have conceded the 2012 race for the White House, and they're putting up a nominee just because they're supposed to, not because they have any designs on winning. This is the political equivalent of the San Antonio-Portland NBA game a couple of nights ago. San Antonio sat out Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, with the predictable result that Portland waxed them 137-97.

You book a small venue where 1,200 can barely fit. My God, who is running his campaign and throwing money around like this?

But when they expected a crowd of 1,200 to show up, they had to get a bigger place. Now, unless the Romney campaign is being run by complete dolts, I can only conclude that in the state of Michigan, there are no meeting spaces that will hold more than 700 people or fewer than 65,000. It's a big gap, to be sure.

16. Ford Field set out 1200 chairs.

The local teevee media said *hundreds* of protestors were outside the building.

And a lot of those 1200 chairs held no asses!

Your question is a good one. And relevant.
