One where our beloved "Democratic Party Leaders" cannot find a winning candidate to defeat the candidates on the right.
For years, Di Feinstein managed to run a losing candidate against the Republican candidates for governor.
For nine years, Di Feinstein could not find a candidate for governor to successfully oppose Schwartzenngger. In fact, when polling and most Dems here showed that they liked Steve Westly, she refused to bow to their influence, and choose somewhat slimey and rather unknown Phil Angelides to run against Schwartzennegger. He was defeated by Ahnold by a huge margin.
Diane is a brilliant poltical leader and strategist, and the only conclusion any thinking person can come to when watching her chosen candidates Bustamante and Angelides go down in flames to Schwartzennegger is that she is in collusion with the other side.
What has she gotten in return? Well, no Republican big wig I know of has ever complained about her re-writing the entire Senate Code of Ethics, and then having a hand-picked cretin serve to enforce those laws in the Senate. As a result, she can blithely vote to not only ensure this nation gets itself entangled in huge wars we don't need, and then a month or two down the line, her husband is lining up for record amounts of moeny coming to him in terms of military-based contracts.
But hey, the Feinstein-Blum family's home in the Presido, San Franciso, is worth 16 million dollars and it has a view to "die for." Or so proclaimed the SF Chronicle. And the thing is, many people did die for that couple to have that view.
