sitting here watching the insanity that is the repukes, with their attacks on women, on workers, on our health, on everything, I begin to wonder. . . .
is there something this insanity is hiding? it occurs to me, whenever there is some particular event, or series of events, that seem to hold the attention of all, to wonder what the powers that be are doing somewhere else that they don't want us to see. when we look at the naked insanity and hatred spewing forth from the repukes, watching it in horror, spending time protesting their attacks on women, etc. --what, if anything, is going on that we are not supposed to notice?
or is it simply that the repukes have finally slipped the last bonds of sanity and are coming forth in their true, naked, unabashed, hate-filled colours?

(1,372 posts)First the Taliban, now Uganda.
Shows a parallel to the negativity of conservative thought.
We can look with disdain at the Taliban and Uganda
and hopefully see the idiocy of the conservatives in the
U.S. and their fight against women's rights and gays.
Wake up people. The old ways of superstition and fear need to be put to rest.
Please. Enough is enough.

(1,372 posts)This is absolutely unbelieveable!!!
The GOP is systematically pissing off everyone in the country
during an election year.
The only thing I can think of is that the GOP is going to show the
world how they can be the most hated people in society and still
manage to steal the next election.
If a Republican is elected president in 2012 I am going to join
the Franciscan order because it will be the only safe place to be.
These people are nuts!

(10,602 posts)In the eyes of the GOP and the Koch Brothers and their allies the election is already fixrd. The November surprise is that they are going to buy and steal the election. They are putting all the pieces in place.
Kansas just passed a Citizen ship ID bill. Other states have passed voter ID and then eliminated places where a voter could get one. GOP Secretaries Of State will put all the voting machines in GOP districts and short all the others. They are determined to repeat 2000 and 2004. Elections don't matter and won't matter because Karl Rove and his cronies are determined to have only a one party nation. Kansas has just gerrymandered all of its districts so no Democrat can win a seat. Texas and most other GOP controlled states are trying to do the same. And during the election GOP brownshirts will be turning away valid Democratic voters.
I believe the GOP and its allies are planning a coup. The churches will get the theocracy they have always wanted.

(111,456 posts)In 2004, Rove was crowing that the GOP would be a permanent majority in both houses of Congress and a permanent fixture in the White House.
Five years later, we had a Democratic president and a nominally Democratic Congress and this freaked them out completely. They see demographics changing and the pendulum swinging away from them and they're terrified that if they don't go for it all, it will never happen.
They're overreaching to the point of insanity because they're trying to get all they can before it all falls apart, in large part because the overreaching is also destroying their party as anyone but foaming at the mouth zealots with axes to grind flees.

(6,670 posts)What are the neocon think tanks saying? They have, so far, predicted all this stuff a decade early, from 9-11 on. The think tanks that tell the rich how to get what they want are different from the ones that produce propaganda for media consumption. I do wonder.
