It is not much yet. By the end of the week it should have my bio, photos of me at Bellevue events, a video clip from my historic preservation days (my ward is HISTORIC Olde Towne) 10 years ago, family info, and more.
I used purple and white to identify with the local high school where I followed sports long before I moved to Bellevue.

The first election issue of the local paper runs Wednesday. The filing period ends Thursday.
Again I thank the DU for the support while I had nothing to show for it.
Warmest regards,
Steve

(50,130 posts)...are targeting Steve from Omaha, stalking him online daily simply because he is brave enough to put himself forward to run for local office as a Democrat. They ridicule in ways that fill Google with lies and trash talk about Steve. They make oblique threats about inserting themselves into the campaign somehow.
This is a huge reason to stand with Steve. We know what happened seven years ago to one of ours who was brave enough to be public.

Why they don't run for office in the open is beyond me. The DU kicked in over $1,000 to get me started. Are they jealous?
And I have checks in the mail!
Seems a cave dweller called a local store that supports me. The dweller started in on why back OS the socialist? The store said "we don't have caller ID Are you local?" Please bring your photo ID with you so we can get your picture with it"
No idea why the caller hung up. Olde Towne merchants are upset with the incumbent.
Oops, did I say that out loud?

OK Grasswire. If what you said was at all true [above] then Steve Dawes would have good cause to alert the cops. The fact that he hasn't means his candy ass has no case. All that has been posted here about OmahaSteve is his OWN WORDS GET IT. There is nothing but the truth and the people of Bellevue deserve to know what kind of candidate is running for office Democrat or Republican. You idiots bitch about how evil Bush was and made up all kinds of false accusations about him,we post the truth about Candidate Steve Dawes and then you accuse us of lies and others actionable deeds. Put up or shut the **** up you cock gurgling asshat.
GOBUCKS quotes Grasswire and then makes a shocking admission:
Grasswire: This is a huge reason to stand with Steve. We know what happened seven years ago to one of ours who was brave enough to be public.
GOBUCKS: I don't think anyone is planning to kill the Weeper.
Gasp.

Some years ago everyone wanted to just keep quiet about the cruel attacks on DU-ers by Fred Grady and his misfits. But bullies only stop when you stand up to them. If they are going to make sure that the voters in Nebraska know all about Steve Dawes by trying to make him an object of derision, then it's proper to make sure that the locals also know all about Fred Grady and the out-of-state wingnuts who are pestering a candidate for local office.
As Paul Wellstone said: "Stand up! Keep fighting!"
(Sorry Steve about hijacking your thread.) I like green.

It identifies with this sign and Bellevue University where Marta got her Masters at the home town University!

Pit it on the first page of your web and always close with it.

(70,387 posts)as someone who does this sort of thing, i have to tell you that purple is a feminine color. it works very well for female candidates. if there is a strong local association, that will likely influence people's perceptions. but if people are telling you to change it, that is likely not the case.
i also would not refer to a university that i did not graduate from.
it gets boring that candidate all use red and blue, but those are also colors that are represented in nature, and appeal to most people.
green is a good color to stand out from the pack, and actually, i think it looks great with the purple. i know that would up your printing costs, but...
if you need anything, you feel free to call on me, k?
ps-i don't think you should use a negative in your slogan.

(99,873 posts)I do want to keep purple on the page. Perhaps toned down some more. Marta doesn't want the violet on it.
