(now w/audio) Savage used today's school shooting to defend bullying as a natural rite of passage

Last edited Tue Feb 28, 2012, 03:33 AM - Edit history (2)

Normally I listen to Norman Goldman in afternoons but I peeked at Michael Savage this afternoon shortly before 4:30. Savage took a caller who told a story of his son being disciplined at high school for standing up to a bully. In response, Savage recalled about how he was bullied as a child, but the bullying instead made him tougher. He also considered bully behavior the foundation of the human race, decried how he thinks modern society is being "feminized", blamed Hollywood for today's school shooting in Ohio, and complained that children are being conditioned to be victims instead of standing up for themselves. Also he made a dumb comparison of childhood bullies with military drill instructors. For someone who holds our institutions like our borders, language, culture, military, and flag so sacred he even defended the Marines caught on video peeing on the corpse, didn't he break the conservative golden rule of not insulting our military?

I hope to record audio of this from a stream of one of those stations that play Savage Nation on tape delay (probably KFMB San Diego). In the meantime Savage made similar views in a show from Oct. 2010 (the first 60-90 seconds, this was after the Tyler Clementi suicide):

In his book The Savage Nation, Savage wrote: "We didn't have room for cute in my life. Things were tough every day of our lives. And we made the best of it. Frankly, that's why I'm driven the way I am. I was raised on neglect, anger and hate. I was raised the old-fashioned way," and: "Only a more savage nation can survive...Not a more compassionate nation" (quoted from Rationalwiki.org).

Geez. No wonder the people of this nation are so hateful and resentful towards each other. Savage was #4 on the Talkers Magazine Heavy Hundred of 2011. Most of the Heavy 100 are those of a similar politically incorrect ideology of Savage.

I was thinking of calling into Savage and challenging him to justify bullying...but if you type in Savage's name on Youtube and listen to his interactions (I don't wanna use "conversations&quot with "liberal callers", notice that once he hears liberal POVs he starts losing it and shouting down the caller. At least Thom Hartmann is willing actually to have real conversations with conservative callers (hence the "CONS" hotline).

Meanwhile, I wonder if Media Matters and other activists will pick up this clip and hold Savage Weiner accountable?

Who unfortunately still has a radio program to spread his hatred.

Why even pay him any attention? It's what he craves....

or so I have heard.
And in such a situation, in a studio with set up calls, Savage can really act tough.

I'm pretty sure the "liberal callers" are really actors hired to "incite" rage in the talking head, so as to make the show fun for teabaggers to listen to.

There ARE real calls, but the screening process is intense and arduous to ensure only people in lockstep with the host's views get on the air. Liberals used to occasionally get through by accident (there's an infamous one that Bartcop has a recording of, where Rush picked up and the guy started out with "mega Bartcop dildos, Pigboy. Let's talk about your draft dodging.&quot but they've taken care of that.

If he's REALLY saying "leave it to the kids", quite frankly, I'll trust the ones with rifles over the bullies any day.
