I'm going to bite the bullet and say that Romney wins by a hair after a late night of counting. So close, I think, that there may be a recount. Ok. what do you think?

(431 posts)Primary is prolonged and the GOP goes into full scale Civil War around convention time.
In addition, I fear a fungal blight might injure the dogwoods in my backyard. I should try to do something about the leaves under my trees but this wild weather and school responsibilities have me hectic.

Edit: Romney wins AZ handily.

(296 posts)If he loses Michigan outright, a brokered convention is much more possible. The MSM would love that as a story line between now and the summer, which could in turn cause high-roller financiers to hold off spending money on Romney. As far as I'm concerned, let them pour millions into Richie Rich, only to have him survive as a weak and battered nominee.
If he wins by less than 4-percent tonight, I think that would confuse the GOP power brokers. His campaign will crow like he's crushed Santorum. There will be talk of "momentum" having both Arizona and Michigan technically in his Win column. But Super Tuesday will likely bruise him anew - so let's keep this roller-coaster going, I say.

(18,115 posts)I am going to predict a very close race, late night before the winner is determined.
I think it will be Santorum. The vote rates will be around Santorum 39%, Romney 38%, Paul 13%, and Newt at 10%.
Michigan delegation allotment rules will give Paul and Gingrich zero delegates for not reaching the 15% threshold.
Santorum will get 2-4 more delegates than Romney. SO Santorum will get 16-17, Romney will get 13-14.
Or, it could go the other way, heehee.
No matter what, Romney will not get a bump or momentum, he failed in MI, his home state, even with a win.

Santorum is scaring too many businessmen on the right.
