Source: ABC News
While heading to New Jersey on Super Bowl weekend, Justin Bieber's private plane was stopped and held at Teterboro Airport this afternoon on suspicion that marijuana was on board, sources confirmed to ABC News.
The sources said Bieber was on the plane that was held on the tarmac. A source said the singer left the plane and was taken to the customs terminal at the airport, which serves private aviation and is packed with planes coming in for the big game.
The plane arrived Friday just before 3 p.m. from Toronto when inspectors with Customs and Border Protection thought they smelled marijuana and began a search, the sources said.
Bieber is being interviewed and the plane may be turned around, sources add.

(1,486 posts)I'm old and don't know the latest tricks. Just put a dryer sheet in a tube? Does it work for cigarette smoke?
EOTE
(13,409 posts)And it does work for cigarettes, but they have a far less incriminating odor. In my college days I went a little fancier and used a ~20oz Gatorade container and poked some holes on the bottom with my soldering iron. I then would stuff in a few fabric softener sheets and exhale into that. Once the sheets start getting brown from smoke, replace them. Makes your room smell like fresh laundry rather than bud/tobacco.

some of the hideous suffering in this world. Give some people clean water, or food,

I was also taught that YOU suffer when you become a pleasure-seeking hedonist.
Thank you Mom, Dad, school and church. I'm happier than Beiber.

(7,699 posts)According to multiple law enforcement sources, the leased, luxurious Gulfstream IV on which the 19-year-old Canadian pop star, his father and an entourage of 10 friends traveled was so full of marijuana smoke that the pilots were forced to wear oxygen masks.
The captain of the flight stated that he warned the passengers, including Bieber, on several occasions to stop smoking marijuana, says the official report of the incident. The captain also stated he needed to request that the passengers stop their harassing behavior toward the flight attendant and after several warnings asked the flight attendant to stay with him near the cockpit to avoid any further abuse.

(22,000 posts)Pilots had to put on their oxygen masks. Smoking of any kind is not allowed on flights. It's not even a marijuana issue.

(3,157 posts)on chartered planes, it's up to the operator. many have planes designated as smoking planes. do you really think the 1%, or even the 5% suffer smoke free on their private jets? beiber should have requested a smoking plane.
i'm sure the pilots used their masks simply out of an abundance of caution, so there would be no chance of them testing positive for THC, not because the smoke cloud was so thick in the flight deck that they could not breathe.

(10,201 posts)These pilots could lose their license (depending on their classification), and their jobs if they test positive.
Smoking pot on a small plane, especially after being asked to stop, is a selfish, asshole thing to do.
If I were the pilot, I'd have grounded the plane and had them arrested.

(44,583 posts)The pilots should have made an emergency landing (there WAS something wrong with the plane, after all) when they could have been busted for possession.
