(32,099 posts)It seems like they're trying to cram too much other stuff into it. The focus is less and less on the puppies, and more on the other stuff. I don't like it. I have been watching it on a web stream out of Canada. I'm more entertained by the Canadian commercials.

I am watching and hope to see a great game.
I really have no favorite. Both teams have a compelling back story IMO.
Additionally... nothing wrong with loving sports. It's a part of our popular culture and I think even if a person does not care for it, they should at least be informed about it. It's like the fact that I could never get though Moby Dick, but I know the characters, themes, and how it relates to other ideas. Maybe that doesn't make sense to some, but that's how I think about my love of sports ( or maybe justify it! LOL )

Who is Renee Fleming? Meet Super Bowl 2014's National Anthem Singer!
The day is finally here and the 2014 Super Bowl will be played this evening (February 2). When the game starts and the National Anthem is sung, a question on many minds will probably be Who is Renee Fleming? Let us fill you in!
The 54-year-old opera singer is one of the most renowned performers in her industry. She can be heard on over 60 different recordings and she has 10 solo albums of her own.
Last year, President Obama awarded Renee with the National Medal of Arts, Americas highest honor for an individual artist. She is also the recipient of four Grammy Awards, most recently winning the prize for Best Classical Vocal Solo in 2013.
Its an enormous risk, again because of the spotlight, Renee said about performing at the Super Bowl during her press conference last week. I really wanted to present it in a really serious way.

The Super Bowl is so over-hyped and so oversold with commercials that it verges on tedious.
Of course, Joe Buck and Fox and all its video bling doesn't help.
I may just have to watch the Wizard of Oz or something.

Still, it wasn't their home field.

(99,833 posts)Cleveland is the only current NFL city that has neither hosted, nor had their team play in, a Super Bowl.
Omaha Steve
(99,833 posts)The home team for the Super Bowl is determined by what number the Super Bowl is. If it's odd, the NFC team is home. The AFC is home if it's even.
