You know what I am outraged about? The authoritarian drug warrior knee jerk response to the death of Mr. Hoffman, a gifted actor who I greatly admired. Junkies die every day, but they are not privileged white men, they are primarily young men of color, and nobody much gives a flying fuck that they dropped dead, victims of our insane corrupt moral crusade against drugs we don't like.
Fuck the authoritarian war on drugs.
Fuck the drug warriors and their corrupt crusade.

(12,081 posts)the loss of this life, of Philip Seymour Hoffman's death. His death too is tragic. He was a talented actor, the kind of actor not often seen in the profession. Also he was the father to young children. I grew up without one of my parents. I feel just horrible that these poor children will have to grow up without their father.

(48,181 posts)I was shocked and saddened by his death, what I did not do was immediately start calling for the heads of drug dealers to avenge this tragedy.

Our budget is $90,000,000 for the current focal year.
We serve all who apply.
To some extent you need to give credit to the person who uses drugs for the results of their actions because it is they who seek treatment.
Society is responsible for the fucked up situations people find themselves in but the majority don't use drugs because of it.
This coming from someone who was a drug and alcohol abuser.
