to defend himself against a teenage boy armed with candy?

(32,001 posts)He can't fight though - we knowi that. So he is going to a beating - if he COULD fight - he wouldn't have needed a gun.

(34,648 posts)All of those people who defended him should come out of hiding right now and comment on this. I notice fix news isn't defending him anymore. I think they have changed their minds.
I just want to know that the good democrats here have also changed their minds. It would be nice.

(37,573 posts)and as dumb as it is for Zimmerman to do this, it doesn't change any of the facts of the case, or of my post here http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=3136120
He's had two years to train, and there is nothing that says he won't get pounded in this match too.

(34,648 posts)Do you still think he was too weak to fight off a 158 pound 17 year old teenager, now that you see he is willing to fight DMX, a man known for violence in the past?
And if he fights this man and wins, will you change your perception of his truthfulness?

(37,573 posts)he has had two years to train.
And those are a lot of ifs. From the night in question we know he had a broken nose, cuts to the back of his head and witnesses who say he was on the bottom.
My question would be what is his motivation here? If this really is for charity or does he get a stipend for it? Maybe multiple tens of thousands of dollars?
Or does he just get a big tax write-off for "charitable contributions" which could save him tens of thousands of dollars in taxes?

(55,445 posts)Zimmerman served his initial purpose (upholding the right for gunners to freely shoot to kill anyone they deep "suspicious" so they no longer have any practical use for him...They're so hung up on touting their cherry-picked facts from the case, but when I illustrate and break down the bigger issue they all go blind, deaf and dumb...And don't bother bringing up the concept of racial profiling or the inequities of the legal system to them -- Half of them will tell you it doesn't exist, and the other half will say there's nothing wrong with it...(only in a white folks' world can racial profiling ever be a good thing)...
Besides, there are a couple of pending high-profile trials in the pipeline and they need to re-organize so they can back those patriotic defenders of liberty as well...Look for them to re-surface once the Dunn trial heats up...

(20,582 posts)I thought from the beginning once I'd heard of his training, that his story about being the victim and fearing for his life was complete bullshit. No-one with any kind of martial arts or boxing training who is the instigator in a situation is not fully prepared to use that training - it's instinct. You're always ready for the first move. He's so full of it. I hope he gets his ass kicked in his upcoming boxing match (assuming it's going to be anything but a bad fake PR stunt).
