37 years after Michigan prison break, woman arrested in California

Her eyes gave her away.

Armed with a decades-old mugshot, police officers in San Diego on Monday arrested Judy Lynn Hayman, a woman who escaped from a Michigan prison 37 years ago.

Hayman initially gave a fake name to the officers who appeared on her doorstep, said San Diego Police Lt. Kevin Mayer. But she eventually admitted to being a wanted fugitive, he said, and is expected to face extradition.

Hayman, according to Michigan Department of Corrections records, was sentenced on June 28, 1976, to 16 months to two years behind bars for attempted larceny. She escaped on April 14, 1977, from the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Washtenaw County.

If her eyes gave her away, I wonder if the SD cops are CSN fans.

And most of the comments after the article seem to say "LET HER GO!" because Hayman served time for larceny rather than a violent crime.

If she'd led a clean life for 37 years, there is no reason to incarcerate her now Warpy Feb 2014 #1

After all, it was attempted larceny, whatever the fuck that means.
