My daughter, 29, just had her first physical since she was in high school and still on our insurance. She is having testing, was written a script for asthma and all this didn't cost her a dime, medicaid paid everything even the script.

(12,081 posts)be able to protect her credit score any better than I've been able to protect mine. I have bad credit because of medical bills. My daughter is 19. She is too young to have bad credit because of medical bills. We must have single payer. There is no other option.

(10,942 posts)why not as many "young invincibles" are signing up for the ACA? Shouldn't those people be counted as ACA signees?

(8,127 posts)was sayin' that the OPs daughter HAD been on their insurance back in high school, when she last received a physical...
she then went on to say that Medicaid is the reason she is now able to get one again.
im in the same boat. have had a part time job, making very little , for years now while ive taken care of other family members (an elderly grandmother who recently passed away, my mentally disabled brother, and my physically disabled mother) and I qualify for the expanded Medicaid in my state.
so happy. already have a visit scheduled to get a check up and make sure my doctor has all my information. now if doctors in my state could prescribe medication they thought you needed without the medical board raiding their offices (some of us legitimately need narcotics occasionally)...
