(8,361 posts)Differentiation. It is perceived brand value. That is why their typical back office jobs pay at or below market value and their marketing and advertising budgets are so huge. They ate selling a 6 dollar shoe for $100 because of their brand effect achieved via superstar endorsers and dominant position among college programs among others.
