A HERETIC I AM
(24,381 posts)Wow...the pic of the Siamese looking long hair looks exactly like a cat a good friend of mine had back in the 90's.
Stay warm!

A HERETIC I AM
(24,381 posts)Looks happy enough to be treading along on the deck railing!
I'm not too terribly far south of you I suppose, but enough to keep that white stuff off my lawn! It's chilly here this evening, but if it has snowed in Jacksonville so far this Winter, it has happened when I have been out of town.
TBF
(32,130 posts)but I am not as thrilled to walk in the 30-40 degree temps as they are! At least there is snow to play in. Stay warm!

(111,429 posts)My cats used to look at me the same way at every first snowfall in New England. I don't think it ever did dawn on them that I could feed the woodstove and keep the house toasty but the great outdoors was beyond me.
MadrasT
(7,237 posts)my cats were giving me last week on day 3 of no power when the house was like 35 degrees.
They were all giving me the stink eye, as if it was something I did.

(1,925 posts)So serene.. I hope the ice passes you by... Stay warm...

(2,978 posts)Seriously, where is HissySpit in Eastern NC that s/he gets all that snow?
But something's afoot. My teensier backyard birds (yellow finches, juncos, titmice, cardinals, wrens, and chickadees today) were all very, very busy this morning.
I love the beauty of the upcoming weather. I just hope it's not 2002 redux.
Hissyspit
(45,788 posts)Yeah, tomorrow may be bad.
WorseBeforeBetter
(11,441 posts)I wasn't living in NC in 2002, but I've heard all about it from coworkers and neighbors. Yep, definitely don't want *that*.
Curmudgeoness
(18,219 posts)for your area! Do you usually get any snow at all? Please don't go anywhere in the next couple of days. Stay safe.

(6,335 posts)I love weather underground.
I have that bookmarked on my laptop.

(47,573 posts)The seeds can absorb the moisture and this can allow the growth of fungi..
Beautiful photos, though. Love the dogs.

(12,471 posts)In my tiny place, I have no place to put any more snow. Here in the North, we haven't had a mid-winter thaw, and lots more snow than usual. If we get any more snow, and no melt, I will have no place to put the new snow. I don't know what I am going to do!
Aerows
(39,961 posts)Please don't send it down here! An inch of persistent ice was enough for us, please don't send it our way again.

(12,647 posts)Your place is beautiful. We're expecting snow here in Virginia, sometime tomorrow afternoon. I love feeling cozy in the midst of a brutal storm.

(27,247 posts)Nice property, too
Hissyspit
(45,788 posts)It's not all mine! Some of it is the neighbors'. As are the dogs.
Art_from_Ark
(27,247 posts)and a very nice setting. It reminds me in a way of my mom's house, which is right on the edge of the Ozarks.
Hissyspit
(45,788 posts)So that may be more than coincidence.
Art_from_Ark
(27,247 posts)It's in a real nice area, so I can't understand why the town itself is in decline.

(8,554 posts)What a nice looking place, snow is just beautiful (wish we'd get some)! Kitties in the snow, birds at the feeders, wonderful. Tho my favorite is the tree with the Redbird peeking out; what I miss the most living out here are the Cardinals.
Thanks so much for sharing, you stay warm and safe and enjoy all of that beauty!
etherealtruth
(22,165 posts)The cat is a cutie and the birds are beautiful.
