every time he said 'right-to-work'. Just like 'morning joke' said on yesterdays show when someone would mentioned 'Chris Christie'. Nicolle Wallace went batshitcrazy when Chuck Todd mentioned Christie. She even bought up Rachel's name when she mentioned it. I guess to her it must be an MSNBC thing.

I didn't see that exchange between Todd and Nicolle but I would love to. Nicolle LOVES her some Christie!
She has been positioning herself for a job in a Christie Presidential run for quite a while. She publicly came out and announced he was her guy. I guess she thinks that being an advisor to "Dubya The Stoopid" and a top aide to "McGramps/McWolf-Killer" makes her naturally attractive to CC. She's an idiot!

All the millions Ed and Rachel and Larry and Joe get do not add to the pension and health funds, nor do any of the 'talent' pay dues on their multi million a year deals.
In addition, MSNBC 'talent' has refused to take a stand for Union crew, and they refuse to assist the Union in NBC related matters.
Jay Leno pointed out his Union Crew with pride. NBC is 100% Union, but the MSNBC side is a Non Union Shop. Ed makes a big stink about 'supporting Unions' but it is hot air of the most self serving sort.

That seemed to all change when unions began to fairly consistently support Democratic candidates. The Republicans began to see unions as their enemies. They never asked themselves why unions were voting Democratic. Unions began voting more Democratic because the values and goals of the Democratic Party and most unions were aligned - fighting for the working man/woman, benefits, worker safety, etc.

Republicans will never admit that without unions there would be no 8 hour workday or 40 hour work week. There would be no sick pay or vacation time. There would be no pensions for anyone except senior management. There would be no employer provided health insurance. There would be no worker safety protection rules. The list goes on and on.

but many of the rank and file do not. Gun control, abortion, etc. are issues that union members may very well disagree with the Democratic party platform. I think a lot of times they don't want their union dues supporting candidates whose views may differ greatly from their own. That may be a big part of the problem with the VW unionization vote.

Fri Feb 14, 2014, 11:17 AM

his family's influence ran deep in the Panhandle of Florida. The coroner was in his family's pocket, the press and media were (and still is) uber conservative, and Joe was well known to have a roaming eye. His alibi of not being in the area when she was found dead could only be collaborated by his friends. His resignation from Congress soon after her death so he could "spend more time with his family" somehow seemed a bit phony.
Joe has dirty hands.

Now, a dead intern is of course no laughing matter and there is a LOT that stinks and is suspect about the whole tragic episode.
How Scar could even THINK about throwing his hat in the Re-Thug Presidential, "Clown Car " show is a head-scratcher to me. But...there are those who say this is exactly what he's up to.

They did say she bumped her head on a desk, lol. I told my wife unless she was dancing on top of the desk at the time I seriously doubt an office fall would generate enough force to kill someone when their head hit the desk. It would have to be the very freakiest of accidents.

I think Joe beaned her with his oversize staple gun.

I liked the fact that Katty Kay talked about the union-management arrangement in Germany. So many Americans don't know shit about Western European countries with market economies but highly socialist domestic policies for workers and families. If they knew the truth they would argue loudly for our policies to be the same...

snip*Personally, I have always related more to union workers than corporate bosses because I grew up in a family where we were always the employees instead of the employers. Like a lot of kids of my generation, I saw the workplace through the eyes of my dad. His struggles to get ahead at work, deal with irrational bosses or keep his job during bad economic times shaped my views of the workplace.

That point of view was not evident in my congressional voting record, where I usually voted against union leaders’ political agendas. But I was still always looking for opportunities to support union workers. That was not only because of personal sympathies but also because of political realities. For reasons that escaped my Democratic opponents, I got the vote of most union members in my district.

BS has been so completely sold to the American public that a homeless man in Detroit laid part of the blame on them in a video that was posted her a few weeks ago. If greedy unions were the main problem or even a large part of it why didn't the cost of cars go down when the big 3 moved plants to Mexico and started paying people ther 50 cents an hour? The 4th estate have been given estates to protect and they will not ride to our rescue.

When labor started it's decline so did our standard of living.
It seems the richer the rich get the more they complain and cry about being persecuted.
It seems the more comfortable and secure they become the less content they are.

It reminds me of that movie "The Awakening" where the doctor had to keep giving the patient stronger and stronger doses of the drug to keep him from going back to his catatonic state. And he ended up frozen again anyway.

shot his B.S. to sh!t by pointing out the German model of employee/management relations favors the two working together, where the Union has a (several) seat(s) on the board. This creates everyone being on the same page when it comes to the health of the organization that feeds them both.
