(112,620 posts)but that is a huge reservoir. Hopefully the temperatures in the area are above freezing so it doesn't create ice patches on the nearby roads.

(12,296 posts)Uhhh ... that it was already leaking tends to indicate that it wasn't entirely structurally sound. Hence the term "leak".

(11,733 posts)UPDATE: According to the Richmond County Emergency Management Agency, the water coming from the tower is not due to damage, but an overflow valve.

(62,287 posts)Much easier than having various pressures throughout the system.
So if there is an excess in the system those areas which get it will overflow, rather than having the pressure drop.
