also Trayvon's lawyer. It's between tears and anger.
Lemon talking about his own dealings being a black man in an affluent neighborhood.

(25,619 posts)WTF on the air. The attorney he was interviewing told him to be careful.
That was close...he's mad and has a right to be furious, IMO.

(26,350 posts)The people/person she is admonishing all sat through the trial and say all the evidence the jury saw.
We all viewed the videos and saw the testimony. We also saw and heard the cockamamie excuses and explanations why Dunn fired in to a car full of unarmed teenagers.
One or more bigots on that jury hung the jury. Banfield should put a sock in it.

(1,495 posts)prosecution overcharged with Murder 1, even though she charged attempted MURDER 2 for the other 3 passengers. The prosecutor is an overcharging idiot, if she had any sense, she would have included a murder 2 charge.

(1,655 posts)They charged 1st degree murder with the lesser charged of 2nd degree or manslaughter. So the jury could have found him guilty on either of those, but they couldn't decide on any of them.
The 3 attempted murder charges had the same choices and the jury decided on guilty of attempted 2nd degree.

(17,865 posts)that refused on principal to drop down to Murder 2? The victim was 17 a conviction for negligent manslaughter would have been treated as aggravated and he would have gone to jail for life. I am not sure what the prosecution is up to. On the other hand if it had been a black person who shot up a car full of white teenagers, I wonder if we would be having this same discussion.

(1,655 posts)I don't see them holding out on principal and refusing to go down to murder 2.
That would mean they believed this guy murdered this kid with premeditation (murder 1) but by refusing to compromise it means a mistrial and no verdict. That doesn't make sense. If a person wanted murder 1, they'd rather get a guilty of a lesser degree of murder rather than a hung jury/mistrial.
