For years, my stomach hurt. Really hurt. It hurt before I ate a meal, it hurt after I ate a meal. Then, I quit eating wheat. Then I began to eat as much organic food as I could afford. I'm cutting out corn now, and most certainly all corn that is sprayed with Roundup.
I'm doing the best I can, because the foods that are used to feed us and our animals are so heavily subsidized by our tax dollars that it makes organic food seem more expensive in comparison. But if we are being poisoned and most, if not all of our food is what is causing so many diseases, then we need to make a change in what we eat. For our health's sake. It's just not worth it to be sick all the time.
My health is returning. My blood pressure is down, my weight is down, my metabolism is coming back into normal ranges.
This morning, I downloaded this article. I'm reading the full article now. It asks that more study be done on causal effects of Glyphosate with a host of modern diseases. The review and my own experience tells me this is the right track. But for now, do what you can to protect yourself. Start yelling about the differences between "conventional" and organic farming practices.
Let your legislators know that you want the poisoning to stop.
The article has 18 pages of references to studies that back up their conclusions. Use it to back up what you already know; that we have been lied to and targeted for the biggest experimental project in the history of mankind.
Glyphosates Suppression of Cytochrome P450 Enzymes and Amino Acid Biosynthesis by the Gut Microbiome: Pathways to Modern Diseases

14. Conclusion
This paper presents an exhaustive review of the toxic effects of the herbicide, glyphosate, the active
ingredient in Roundup®, in humans, and demonstrates how glyphosates adverse effects on the gut
microbiota, in conjunction with its established ability to inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450
enzymes, and its likely impairment of sulfate transport, can remarkably explain a great number of the
diseases and conditions that are prevalent in the modern industrialized world. Its effects are insidious,
because the long-term effects are often not immediately apparent. The pathologies to which glyphosate
could plausibly contribute, through its known biosemiotic effects, include inflammatory bowel disease,
Entropy 2013, 15 1445
obesity, depression, ADHD, autism, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, ALS, multiple sclerosis,
cancer, cachexia, infertility, and developmental malformations. Glyphosate works synergistically with
other factors, such as insufficient sun exposure, dietary deficiencies in critical nutrients such as sulfur
and zinc, and synergistic exposure to other xenobiotics whose detoxification is impaired by glyphosate.
Given the known toxic effects of glyphosate reviewed here and the plausibility that they are negatively
impacting health worldwide, it is imperative for more independent research to take place to validate
the ideas presented here, and to take immediate action, if they are verified, to drastically curtail the use
of glyphosate in agriculture. Glyphosate is likely to be pervasive in our food supply, and, contrary to
being essentially nontoxic, it may in fact be the most biologically disruptive chemical in our environment.

(5,420 posts)our air is poisoned, our water is especially poisoned. There is no water to drink that does not have some contaminates in it. Much of it probably mush worse than any report will tell you.
I suspect all of the toxins in our everything is causing or exacerbating many illnesses like fibro, diabetes, and most autoimmune illnesses where our own body seems to be attacking itself.
Yes we are being poisoned
One day in the store a woman and I talked briefly about ss being doomed. SHe asked "do you think there will be any ss when your kids retire?" I didn't think and it just blurted out "I don't think my kids will live to that age." and I don't think many of our kids will. Poisons allowed in our water air, food is one of the main reasons. I didn't even know I felt that way until I blurted that out to her.

Pesticides chapter is horror after horror, but here's just the paragraph on autism.
Autism rates have simply skyrocketed in the last decade. In the period between 1997 and 2008, autism prevalence among boys increased 261%. Prevalence among girls increased more than 385% over the same period. [4] Mounting evidence suggests gestational pesticides exposures are strong candidates for the development of autistic spectrum disorders.[5] In Californias rich Central Valley agricultural region, a 600% increased incidence in autism was observed among children up to 5 years of age for births from 1990 to 2001, yet only one-third of the rise could be explained by identified factors such as changing diagnostic criteria for autism or a younger age at diagnosis [6] The National Academy of Sciences now estimates that about one third of all neurobehavioral disorders, like autism and ADHD, are caused either directly by pesticides and other chemicals or by interaction between environmental exposures and genetics.

Previously the anti-body odor industry used a petroleum product called propylene glycol --as a hydrating base for stick deodorants etc. So now they have switched to a "less toxic" alternative called 1,2 propanediol. This is derived from corn and goes under the brand name "Zemea" by Dupont. This is now put into most "natural" deodorants--no matter where you buy it. Check labels--this is in just about every one of them.
BUT--here's a description of propanediol. I question the safety of this chemical, also because this product is made from GMO corn:
---------------------------------
"Worldwide, 1,2-propanediol is mainly used for the production of unsaturated polyester resins. In 1990 some 340 000 tonnes were produced in the USA. In Sweden there is no production of 1,2-propanediol. In Sweden, 1,2-propanediol is mainly used as an industrial solvent and as an antifreeze. In cleaning agents, paint and surfactants 1,2-propanediol is used as a solvent as it is soluble in both water and organic materials.
The hygroscopic properties are utilized in food as a humectant and preservative. 1,2-propanediol is an approved additive in foods and is used in i.e. bakery goods. In cosmetics, the softening and humectant properties are utilized. 1,2-propanediol is used as a solvent in pharmaceutical preparations containing some water-soluble ingredients. The substance is used as a plasticizer in materials that come into contact with food and as a lubricant for food machinery.
Aqueous solutions of 1,2-propanediol have excellent antifreezing properties. A solution with 50% 1,2-propanediol has for example a freezing point of minus 33oC. 1,2-propanediol is also used for de-icing of aircrafts.
1,2-propanediol is a substitute for 1,2-ethanediol as a non-freezing solution for cars due to its less dangerous properties for health.

And, for the record, I have a degree in Geology with a minor in Chemistry (inorganic and organic), along with post-graduate studies in volcanology and analytical microscopy, for what it's worth.
Thank you Bonnie for posting it.

(14,881 posts)Cytochrome P450 enzymes are present in most tissues of the body, and play important roles in hormone synthesis and breakdown (including estrogen and testosterone synthesis and metabolism), cholesterol synthesis, and vitamin D metabolism. Cytochrome P450 enzymes also function to metabolize potentially toxic compounds, including drugs and products of endogenous metabolism such as bilirubin, principally in the liver.
