Alec Baldwin is an asshole.

He's a child who blames others for his bad behavior. Now it's not his anti gay slurs that are the problem,it's Rachel Maddow's reaction to the anti gay slurs that are the problem:

In this week's tell-all, Baldwin says the Page Six report was part of an effort by MSNBC president Phil Griffin to discredit him, but went on to endorse the suggestion that Maddow had played a role in his departure.

"Once they fired me, a former MSNBC employee I knew emailed me. He said, 'You watch now, Phil is going to start leaking left and right to bury you.' When I left, 'Page Six' was flooded with lies about me," Baldwin says.

"Another source told me, 'You know who’s going to get you fired, don’t you? Rachel. Phil will do whatever Rachel tells him to do,'" Baldwin said. "I think Rachel Maddow is quite good at what she does. I also think she’s a phony who doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air."

Maddow has previously said that though she's never met Baldwin she is "offended anytime somebody uses the insinuation that someone is gay as an insult.”

even if she wanted to when Olbermann left. She was just getting started and KO was burning bridges as usual.

I don't think Rachel would have tried that anyway. She's no pushover but network politics is not an area I think she likes. KO gave her a start and she took it from there. I think she will always remember that 1st platform to speak about her views.

Unless something really nasty erupted, I can't see her going after KO and even then she would probably take the high road.

His criticism of Anderson Cooper of not being "out and open" was incredibly blind for someone who supports gay rights and, I'm sure he believes, understands the difficulties of being gay.

One hour with a local mayoral race candidate on your first show. Even if it is for the NY city race it seems um excessive. Especially for a show that needs to cultivate a national audience. NY city politics may fascinate people who work or live there but the further out you get in the country the less interest you'll find. His subsequent shows weren't all that more interesting.

Sure he's an asshole and his show was boring and that is an unforgivable sin.

Sounds like someone (or several someones) on an anti-Maddow whisper campaign. It's not as if Baldwin were a Phil Donahue, axed despite having the highest-rated show. It wasn't particularly interesting -- he certainly didn't make it moreso -- and I have to wonder who in management thought giving him a show was a good idea in the first place.

So who's trying to shove blame onto Rachel?

Maybe, maybe not. If he's such a jerk and he def can be, who knows if he's telling the truth on this? Or that the source is. Politico's headlines are getting to be a bit much. The CEO is a former assistant to Reagan.

The NY article this story came from also said: "On the Wendy Williams TV show on Wednesday, Maddow said she had never met Baldwin, but added, “I’m offended anytime somebody uses the insinuation that someone is gay as an insult.”
Maddow also is credited with greasing the skids for Keith Olbermann’s exit from the channel nearly three years ago, even though it was Olbermann who brought her to MSNBC and nurtured her career as his protégé.
Through a publicist, Maddow told me, “I have never had any role in any management decision at MSNBC. Any source who says otherwise is wrong.”

Is she lying? I think not.

He needs to learn that it's nice to be nice. Learn what the word "humble" means. IOW, he needs to STFU. IMHO.
