Indiana was a hotbed of Klan activity in the 1920's and it hasn't changed much since.

The Indiana law is so broad that it allows/promotes discrimination against any group that is not in the majority

you can discriminate against it is my understanding -
black, gay, nazi, whatever.
ETA - just seems in this case everyone is focusing on gays.
