(24,324 posts)I watched the streaming on line( don't have expensive cable) and the damn NCAA cut me off with 8 minutes to go.
So I found a blog and it was as nerve wracking as watching the game.
WHEW !I'm whipped....

(14,341 posts)It was nerve wracking enough watching it live.
Badgers were on their game tonight.

(108,335 posts)As I said in the sports forum: Why doesn't Kentucky just see about getting an NBDL team? Save the scholarships for those who'll actually complete their degree.
Bob Sacamano
(20 posts)Kentucky is hardly the only team that doesn't graduate players.
The only reason the "one and done" players are there is because they are forced to be there by NBA rules. They have to go to college for a year, so they have to go somewhere. Kentucky is just better than everyone else at getting them.
Don't hate Kentucky, hate the system.
Signed,
Not a Kentucky fan!

(108,335 posts)You're right it is the NBA's fault but it seems Kentucky has more one and doners than any other college.

(20 posts)Like I said, Kentucky is better at getting those players than anyone else.
Now how they get those players is a discussion for another thread. College basketball recruiting is a dirty game, thanks to AAU.
But it's not Kentucky's fault these kids can't go pro. They have to go to college. And making freshman ineligible isn't the answer. That doesn't address the issue, at all.
Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin
(108,335 posts)But the NBA's rules are ruining college basketball. Primarily college should be about learning.

(24,324 posts)Actually 'evil, empire' wasn't my idea. A blogger...I just root for teams by the color of the uniforms and/or the underdog.
It's all good.

(29,676 posts)I cried after that. My grandpa attended before the war and was always a fan. I wish he'd been here to see it.
Ya know, maybe he was here. I'm almost positive he was around to see the Packers win the SB a few years ago. He just has better seats and fantastic access compared to when he was still with us.

(24,324 posts)Rex Chapman was the color guy. Is that the one you mean? If so, that was the national feed, if you can believe that. What a couple of crappy announcers.

(25,816 posts)I hope they can beat Duke, then I can take faint solace in the fact that my team lost to the national champs.

(841 posts)... even the commentators were shaking their heads at the three outright incorrect calls late in the game against the badgers that cost them 3-5 points. Yep, both Kentucky and the zebras choked in this one.

(3,941 posts)This team has been a joy to watch all year. A good group of young men that have played their hearts out. We have a storied program that I'm very proud to follow and cheer for each game. These kids have been the personification of class and determination and talent the whole year and not once did you hear a word of gloating, unsportsmanlike conduct from that first player. Are they good? Yes, yes they are but anyone can be beaten on any given night. And tonight a phenomenal season came to an end but no amount of meanness can take away what they accomplished. Well done Wildcats, may each and everyone of you enjoy your future endeavors as much as I enjoyed watching you play. Thanks for a great season.

(111,110 posts)At times, it seemed like the world vs The "undefeated" team.
They showed a lot of strength of character, I thought.
Wisconsin had to play a great game to beat them. I hope they can finish their season successfuly against Duke.
This Kentucky team, even though they lost to the Badgers, set records that will stand for a very long time.
A very enjoyable season.
