http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026468809In the good old days with the mods and before juries we would get into fights and the mods would delete posts and lock threads. It made DU fun. With the jury system "community standards" and fun have diminished.
I know the jury system is well intentioned, but we should realize that DU is not an academic institution. It's a way for us to learn, teach, interact, kill time, and have fun. And the occasional silly flamewar is certainly that.
DU used to be the best moderated forum on the Internet. I wish we could to back to what made us great.

What if the first Hillary operative is really working for one of her opponents? Or, GASP, a Republican? How could you tell in a place like this?

And yes, the days of moderators were more civil and reasoned.
A good many trolls are running rampant and having their way with things, and a great number of valued contributors have left.
