FL Baker: We’re Getting Death Threats over Refusal to Make Anti-Gay Cake

http://www.mediaite.com/online/fl-baker-were-getting-death-threats-over-refusal-to-make-anti-gay-cake/

by Josh Feldman | 2:26 pm, April 4th, 2015

Former pastor Joshua Feuerstein wanted to test something out amid the controversy this week over religious freedom and business rights. He figured if business owners should be compelled not to discriminate against homosexuals, then businesses should also be compelled not to discriminate against anti-gay Christians.

And so, on video, he recorded a phone conversation he had with Florida bakery Cut the Cake. He asked if they would make him a sheet cake saying “We do not support gay marriage.” The woman on the other end said they wouldn’t do that and hung up. After that, Feuerstein proceeded to identify the bakery in question and made his point about the religious freedom issue.

At one point, he said, “Gay marriage isn’t even illegal. It’s called marriage. If you’re a gay man and you want to be married, guess what? Just go find a woman and get married.”

Feuerstein encouraged viewers to call the bakery and and help “expose the hypocrisy” they’re supposedly engaging in. Well, in a parallel of what happened to Memories Pizza in Indiana, Cut the Cake ended up receiving quite a lot of angry messages, including death threats.

Big difference there. Also she has not asked for anything because of the threats.

A Lesbian couple own the bakery and refused to make a hateful anti-Gay message on a cake.

That's how she is standing up to the bigots.

If you are going to make not 1 but 2 sarcastic comments at least read the article. She refused to make an ANTI GAY cake that some wacky pastor wanted her to make.

I have yet to hear even a single one being made public. Apparently none of those making these calls uses voicemail.

Y'all remember a group a few years back called Protest Warrior? They were some right wing brats who went to anti-war protests and tried to antagonize the protesters there. It was funny, because they were always claiming that they got repeatedly assaulted at these events (you know, those violent anti-war protesters), and yet despite that they had cameras rolling the entire time they were doing their schtick, there was never any footage of these assaults. The camera always seemed to cut out when these assaults occurred.

Bad luck, I guess.

the right wing fundies want the right to proclaim their hate

and this baker refuses to participate.

But the right wing fundies insist they have the right not to endorse love
and commitment, regardless of who is getting married.

Yes, I'd say the right wing fundies are consistent. They are all about hate.
That's all they can see is their view of the world from their own hateful
eyes.

Do those of you making snide remark realize this woman is getting the threats because she REFUSED to make an anti gay cake? The wackadoodles are not happy that she will not participate in their hate fest.(edited to add- not aimed at the OP too many snarkers to reply to just one)

Refuse to deliver pizza to gay weddings = make $850,000.

Refuse to bake a cake for an anti gay cause = death threats.

Anyone see anything wrong with this picture?
