1. As a typographer for decades, I used to be quite forgiving of silly typos . . .

They happen. And when they're in print, permanent.* But now, on the web, I find them simply unforgivable if allowed to remain in place longer than a very short time, especially in high-visibility sites.

Still, this is funny, and a little telling about the level of oversight we could expect from a Paul Administration. It doesn't diminish my opinion of the man (that's formed of far more substantive criticism), but it does point to a certain lax attitude that should prove even more amusing in the months to come.

*My personal favorite typo: While working for a newspaper, in a fluff piece on a local collector, the line was supposed to read that the elderly woman had "a history of interest in antique clocks."

the term "public liability" became "pubic liability" due to a typo. You can imagine the innuendo associated with that gaffe.

As if, because you can get it up there quickly, you don't have to look at it beforehand.

Frankly, web-trained people just don't exhibit the discipline of print-trained people.

and took the first link I could find on it.

The point I see is that this was his launch of his presidential campaign and not some forum spelling mistake.

I did think it was a spoof at first because it was so careless unless he was running for high school president.

I doubt he can get the Republican nomination now. And if he does he has completely lost the independent vote in the general election. How could he have allowed a misspelled word on his website for minutes, possibly hours??!! He should fire the person responsible to show he is a strong leader, but I doubt he can recover from this devastating episode.
