Police Just Shot Unarmed 17-Year-Old In the Back

http://countercurrentnews.com/2015/04/police-just-17-year-old-in-the-back/

Chicago area police officers just shot an unarmed 17-year-old boy in the back. Justus Howell was fatally shot by a Zion police officer on Sunday.

Police officials confirmed that Justus was shot in the back.

Witnesses suggest that police planted a gun on Justus, as they all say that he was completely unarmed at the time he was fleeing officers and when they shot him. Only after the fact did a gun “magically” appear at the crime scene.

Witnesses are unanimous in their agreement on this. There is not one person who saw the fatal shooting or the foot pursuit who claims that Justus was armed.

You can't imagine what Justus looked like, can you?

about their business. And your family members are worth just as much as anyone else's.

Paralyzing fear and a constant terror of being killed for nothing. Like every good bye could be the last, all so unjust. I'm surprised there's so little derangement among those being targeted.

It keeps one down in survival mode, just as it's intended to do. It akes too many energy, keeps one at the lower level in the pyramid of needs and destroys the gifts their creativity could have given to themselves, their families and all the rest of us.

"Police have said Howell was involved in a scuffle while trying to steal a handgun during a street sale. Authorities said Tramond Peet, 18, of Lindenhurst intended to sell a gun to Howell near Gilead Avenue in Zion. During the exchange, a fight broke out between Howell and Peet, and a shot was fired, police said.

A neighbor who heard the gunshot and witnessed the fighting called police, authorities said. When officers arrived on the scene, Howell ran and was shot sometime later.

Zoladz confirmed Peet, who was arrested on weapons charges in the case, is a student at Grayslake North but said she could not provide additional details.

Perlini said relatives of Howell also attend Grayslake North.

Peet has been charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and is in Lake County jail on $15,000 bail."

If you were a cop responding to a call about a fight with a shot fired, you might presume that firearms were involved.

I'm not saying this is a justified shooting, just pointing out that there is reason for posting a bit more background.

If the Peet kid has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and the report says he TRIED to sell Howell a gun, but Howell TRIED to steal it instead, then why did they shoot Howell whom the report admits was not armed?
I'm surprised the Peet kid wasn't killed. There must have been to many witness's when the cop's found him.

these parts:

Would society actually be safer net-net with no police force (as currently constituted)?

Sure, criminals and predators would more easily prey upon the vulnerable. But offenses like Walking While Black, Driving While Black and Living While Black would stop being capital offenses.

I'm posting sarcastically (somewhat), but I think it's a valid question. If you're rich and white, the police have your back. If you're poor and black, the police shoot you in the back.

their guns and other weapons warm and well-oiled, so the police here have to resort to shooting or choking to death white folk who are mentally challenged, 15 year old kids, 80+ year old men, and people with no money. Probably if we didn't have those they would import baby seals or something.

This town isn't quite as white as the Whitopia across the border, Coeur d'Alene, but there was a story last year about a black kid coming home depressed because he was the only black kid in the class. Again this year.

I have a certain advantage, in being 60 (oops, 61 now) and looking like a retired, white insurance agent. All the pale faces think I think like they do.

It is a logical conclusion that when they become cops they will take the same attitude toward people that don't look white because that was their targets in Iraq.

IMO the most stupid thing we ever did was make an all volunteer military...it has become a magnet for people who like killing people...especially sense we call them heroes for it.

WALKING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET

Channel 2's Liz Artz spoke with Atlanta Police Chief George Turner after officers shot a 22-year-old man in southwest Atlanta.

Around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, police officers saw 22-year-old Yuric Ussery walking in the middle of McDaniel Street.

Police say Ussery immediately ran when approached by officers.

During the chase, police say Ussery produced a handgun and pointed it at officers.

Officers opened fire on Ussery, but investigators have not been able to determine how many shots were fired.

Channel 2's Liz Artz spoke with Ussery's brother who says they were on the phone together and police may have mistaken the cell phone for a gun.

"He didn't pull out no gun. He was reaching for a phone. He answered the phone," Chvotkin Ussery said.

A 17-year-old high school student was shot and wounded on Thursday by an undercover Federal agent who mistook a foil-wrapped candy bar that the youth was holding for a handgun, officials said yesterday.

The student, Andre Burgess, said he was walking down 138th Street in Laurelton, Queens, about 7 P.M. on Thursday when he passed a car full of undercover law enforcement agents who were searching for a fugitive drug dealer.

According to law-enforcement officials, a Federal agent inside the car saw the silver wrapper of the Three Musketeers bar that Mr. Burgess was carrying and mistook it for the glint of a pistol.
