(1,644 posts)throughout the whole campaign. The media will play, 'Gotcha', and she'd better be ready. It is simply a fact that she does not generally come off as warm and cuddly in televised interviews. This can be problematic, especially if the Republicans choose a candidate who happens to be quicker on his feet than the last few duds they have put up.

She made the right choice in how she presented herself.
I've often heard the saying "You never get a second chance at making a first imrpession" but damn if she just didn't do it!
Just said the same thing but not as well

(2,097 posts)Also not a fan, but I can't imagine that video being any better. Really well done. I just wish I knew whether the overt stealing from Elizabeth Warren ("the deck is stacked in favor of those at the top" was a core belief or naked opportunism. Guess we'll see. But if they can keep this tone up for the whole campaign, she'll win in a walk.
CTyankee
(63,914 posts)Hillary is not stupid. She saw the way things were coming down within her own party.
I think his is exactly what Warren was aiming to do...and probably still is. If so, keep it up Elizabeth...HRC will need to have your message refreshed over and over again in the upcoming campaign...

(45,319 posts)Democratic White House trying to get health care reformed. How material about the stacked deck of the wealthy is the sole property and creation of a person who was a Republican when Bernie Sanders was helping found the Progressive Caucus along with other members who are still part of that 69 member caucus such as Peter DeFazio and Maxine Waters.
I mean, Warren is great and all that, but a Republican woman who moved to the left in the mid 90's just might have been pulled in that direction by the example of Hillary Clinton. Warren was a Supply Sider, a Reaganomics advocate, she was mistaken and on the wrong side of every issue. Her Party and candidates were anti choice when Hillary was Pro Choice, anti gay when Hillary was Pro Gay, her Party opposed every last piece of policy that might benefit regular people, busted Unions and ignored AIDS all while Liz was loyal to them and Hillary was a good Democrat.
So what pulled Liz to the left? Anyone know?
I love what Warren says these days, but I really loathe the pretense that she does not have a long and rather contradictory history with the Republican Party. It's insulting and simplistic.

(15,412 posts)I love that people change their minds if they go in the right direction It tells me they have thought about it, and examined the issues rather than just following friends or family. My dad was a republican until Reagan made his head explode but everyone else in my family and extended family were/are politically active dems.
The thing about "reformed whores" as we lovingly called my dad when he switched, is that they sometimes become the most liberal and outspoken. My dad put some of the godless commie pinkos in my family to shame with his politics after Reagan.

(9,493 posts)I say u don't always get what you WISH for - a Republican President at this point in history I think we might all be able to agree on would take us back in time decades if not a half-century and all but guarantee that climate change will pass that point of no return (if it hasn't already)... if that alone isn't enough to make you suck it up I'm not so sure of your grasp of reality.

justiceischeap
(14,040 posts)and maybe that's what she's been spending the time doing since she "retired." She's been learning from PR groups and marketers and politicos what resonates about her and what doesn't. From the tone of this video, she's started the process of making THIS campaign about the people and not about her.
I also liked that she (they) made the point that it was the publics' time, not hers. If she and her people continue to run her campaign like this, she just might have a chance.
However, and I'm sorry this is going to be ageist, I worry about her age. Not because I don't think people her age are capable but I've seen what the first few years in office will do to a President and it ain't pretty.

The impression I am already getting is that the Clinton campaign is going to avoid specifics on issues as much as possible and hype image and, of course, gender.

(12,224 posts)But I just now saw the video that Hillary Clinton's campaign put together, and wow, it was done VERY well.
To me, it started out kind of YouTube-wait-for-the-x-to-show-up-to-close-the-ad, but it grabbed my attention pretty quickly, as it began to speak to my situation.
Great job!
I think she has a great team so far.
