Where is our country headed?
Can we rely on politicians to fix our problems?
Can we rely on politicians to even recognize the problems?
Far from the world of reality, they study their polls and give lip service to the "middle-class" and "living wages" as they discuss solutions with the billionaires that fund their campaigns and lust for power. They haven't the faintest idea of what to do to make this country better?
As their cheerleaders stand in line to sing their praises and discuss logos and photos, the game remains the same. Those in power continue to tighten their grip on the vast majority as they accumulate more and more wealth and more power. They have no intent on surrendering any of it.
The chasm of the classes grows wider and wider. We are waist-deep in the Big Muddy and the fools chant, "March on!". Happy days are here again.

Today it takes lot's of money to get elected. People with little to spend are not the ones who pay for elections so they don't have a loud voice. Often they don't bother to vote which allows a candidate the liberty to ignore them.
People need to find ways in their communities and families and themselves to replace what they thought they would get from government.

(52,589 posts)It will be a long road, now made harder by the Supreme Court. It will take over a decade. Right now, "party" alone is not the answer because we've gone past that point. History will leave it up to us.
