The sad thing is I don't believe she's the only one that feels this way
Former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) predicted in a recent interview that President Barack Obamas handling of the Middle East was a sign of the End Times and that Jesus Christ would soon return to Earth.
If we actually turn our back on Israel as we have seen Barack Obama do today, if that happens then I think we will see a scale and a level of push back in the United States, negative consequences, Bachmann told Understanding the Times radio host Jan Markell on Sunday. I dont know what they are, but I believe that the Bible is true. And believe what the Bible says is that our nation and the people of our nation will reap a whirlwind, and we could see economic disasters, natural disasters.
The United States does not want to be in that position and unfortunately the people put into office Barack Obama, she opined. Not only once, but twice. And the people have to rise up against his actions and demand that their leaders take steps accordingly.
But even though Bachmann lamented that Barack Obamas nuclear deal with Iran was pro the goals of Islamic jihad, she said that the coming End Times were a reason to celebrate.
These are not fearful times, these are the most exciting days in history, she insisted. Talk about what you see in the newspaper. We can talk about Gods time clock and the fact that Jesus Christs return is imminent. Is there anything more important to talk about?

(31,849 posts)(I would guess) a majority of those believing they have a reserved cloud seat to view the End Times will be sorely disappointed with their view.

I have no doubt at all. Nor that they are going to increase their power over the next decade.
Like an American ISIS.

(10,044 posts)She is interpreting the book of Revelation literally (as ISIS does). It's a profitable industry and those who preach it constantly over the past 50 years or more have airplanes and TV stations to show for it. ISIS has armies.
I have a book by Dr. Barbara Theiring (U-Austrailia) whose interpretation of Revelation tells who the characters really were and what the situations really mean, and were written so that those in charge of Rome would not know what they meant.
That said, times sure are coming close to what the bible predicted, Old and New Testaments and Revelation. But everytime there's a plague or a war the believers think it's end times (it's happened at least 10 times or so since AD).
I'm getting a little crazy myself from all the contradicting interpretations.

Perhaps that is one way to sell it to the tea baggers and crazies. You want Jesus to return, support the deal

What a nutbag.

(82,849 posts)I had to take a friend off my Facebook feed for all the "Come quickly, Lord Jesus" folderol she was posting. The overwhelming vibe I got from that friend (and from any number of End-Timers) is that with current state of the the world, their only plan is to hope that Jesus comes back soon. Because otherwise, there's a huge mess that needs to be cleaned up, and they just don't want to deal with it.
I felt sort of bad muting a friend of long-standing, but the alternative was to post something really snarky/mean in response to one of her maranatha posts, and that wouldn't be very Christian of me.
