I have voted Democratic in every single election from Hubert Humphrey to the present including all partisan elections including state and Local elections. I say this because I do not want to be blamed for possibly being a right winger, I am not.
Some old news came back to mind of one of the many Clinton """Scandals"'' a few minutes ago as I was simply reading new article and searching the names in the news that were familiar but I couldn't recall the news worthyness of that person.
The name is MARC RICH......A rich man that was given a Presidential Pardon for tax evasion in the last days of the Clinton administration.
It was requested by a wealthy donor, Deneise Rich and at the time was mostly being hyped a a successful songwriter and being described as a very nice woman. pooey!
He was best known for founding the commodities company Glencore and for being indicted in the United States on federal charges of tax evasion and illegally making oil deals with Iran during the Iran hostage crisis. He was in Switzerland at the time of the indictment and never returned to the United States.[4] He received a controversial presidential pardon from U.S. President Bill Clinton on January 20, 2001, Clinton's last day in office.[5]

Now that very nice woman named Denise Rich, as it has been learned made money writing songs but was also from a wealthy family whose father was Austrian and owned a shoe factory.
Denise Rich, the wealthy socialite and former wife of pardoned billionaire trader Marc Rich, has given up her U.S. citizenship - and, with it, much of her U.S. tax bill.
Rich, 68, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and glossy figure in Democratic and European royalty circles, renounced her American passport in November, according to her lawyer........................................By dumping her U.S. passport, Rich likely will save tens of millions of dollars or more in U.S. taxes over the long haul, tax lawyers say....................................Rich, who was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, has Austrian citizenship through her deceased father, said Michael Heidt, a lawyer in Hollywood, Florida, who represented her in a recent lawsuit.

(7,638 posts)She was not president. Bill Clinton was. Blaming her on decisions her husband made is ridiculous.

(1,644 posts)By the same token, however, she cannot claim any credit for the good that was accomplished, either. The first Clinton administration should have no bearing on the upcoming campaign. Getting a little off-topic, I believe that we need a good debate in the Democratic primaries. Hopefully, Elizabeth Warren and perhaps one or two other worthy candidates will step forward, to keep it from being a coronation.

Did you fail to read that. Do you remember the Clintons favorite campaign that you get two for the price of one.

(30,058 posts)elect any president? Hillary is her own person, she should not be held accountable for others. Would you want to be in a position things your family members may have done in the past or future? It is not a child's fault what their parents may have done.

They'll find her own baggage, no need to bring Bill into this.

There are plenty of reasons to prefer another candidate - this is not one for me.

(2,535 posts)Do you really support people who acted like reagan and busted sanctions and helped Iran when they were holding our hostages. Marc Rich got Israel oil from Iran while they were holding our hostages.

(2,535 posts)CONCORD, N.H., Dec. 21 -- After months of discussion within her campaign over how heavily she should draw on her husband's legacy, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is closing out her Iowa and New Hampshire campaigns in a tight embrace of Bill Clinton's record, helping fuel a debate about the 1990s with Sen. Barack Obama that she thinks she can win.
As part of the Clinton strategy, the former president is playing an increasingly prominent public role as an advocate for his wife. He appears to have overcome concerns within the campaign over how closely she should associate her candidacy with his time in office and over whether his appearances could draw attention away from her.
Both Clintons are making the case that theirs was a co-presidency -- an echo of Bill Clinton's controversial statement during the 1992 campaign that voters would get "two for the price of one" if they elected him. At times, the former president has seemed to cast the current race as a referendum on his administration.
