Increased production is not matched with paychecks.

(99,716 posts)In classical economics if productivity is up and unemployment is coming down there should be upward pressure on wages...
Why this isn't the case I don't know because I'm not an economist.

(20,043 posts)One of my biggest complaints is that employers aren't paying what they should. Since '08 (it's gotten worse anyway) they work people and don't pay them their worth. They will have one person do the job of two and if you don't like it, tough, they'll tell you hit the road there are 10 others that will do the job for less.
Part of the problem is the union busting that's happened. No one looks out for the workers anymore.
My husband was working at a job and he was easily putting in 70 hours--no overtime pay--no comp time. His phone never stopped ringing. He basically worked from the time he got up till the time he went to bed 7 days a week. What could we do? We had to pay the bills.

(32,616 posts)Hillary has been talking about these issues since the 60s.
As for EW... she voted for the last Republican President twice and didn't vote for a Dem until Obama.

Could be a preemptive strike meant to discourage EW and Bernie from getting in.
Nobody does strategy like the Clintons.

(94,808 posts)-build the economy of tomorrow not yesterday
- strengthen families and communities
- fix our dysfunctional political system and get unaccountable money out of politics once and for all, even if that requires a constitutional amendment
- protect our country from the threats that we see and from ones that are on the horizon
