Bernie Sanders Jabs at Hillary: Do You Know What She’s Running On?

With MSNBC’s cameras trained on the “press crush” outside Hillary Clinton’s first event in Iowa, Thomas Roberts spoke to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) about his reaction to her campaign so far and his own potential to get in the race.

While Sanders did not say Clinton’s entrance in the race has “inspired” him to run, he did have plenty to say about what he has seen from her so far. The senator found the media’s obsession over her “Scooby” van absurd, joking that he “can’t think of an issue of more significance to the American people,” before outlining the issues he would like to see her putting forward, like Wall Street’s power over the middle class. “If I run, I want to run a serious campaign,” he said, perhaps suggesting that is not the case for Clinton.

Sanders told Roberts that Americans need a candidate “who will deal with the most important issue, and that is are we prepared to take on billionaire class, which has so much power over our economic and political life.” Asked if he does not believe Clinton is “out for the little guy,” Sanders said he just doesn’t know yet.

“Why don’t you tell me what Hillary Clinton is campaigning on, do you know?” Sanders asked. “You don’t know and I don’t know and the American people don’t know.”

The American people hear "take on the billionaire class" and they think jobs being destroyed. He's totally on point but needs to hone his messaging semantics. Most people just want a stable economy and good wages, sometimes Bernie comes across (rightfully) angry and people equate that with uncompromising. That being said, if Bernie runs as a Dem, I will vote for him in primary.

I do not expect HRC to ever act on any of the lovely progressive themes she is parroting now. She will likely go all warhawk pro bigbusiness again if she wins the nom.
Hell, she is for INCREASING H1B visas, flooding the IT market with inexpensive Indians and driving down wages for the rest of us.
She voted repeatedly to build a wall on our southern border...
She is FOR the TPP.

And even more damning - she is for keeping the cap on social security wages. This means the tax on everything you earn STOPS at ~$113k. Everything over that is SS TAX FREE even tho raising that cap would make SS solvent.

She is NOT for the average person. She is all in for the rich.

To me it sounded like both EW and BS, and I couldn't help thinking she was hoping to shut down a primary challenge from the left.

Haven't heard Bernie's response to what she said today. Will he be pissed off or relieved?
