"If I run, I will beat her," Christie said.
Christie said should he run for president, he's confident he could win Pennsylvania, New Mexico and New Hampshire -- three states that voted for President Barack Obama over his 2012 Republican challenger, Mitt Romney.
Let me remind you something about Mr. Christie, whom governs a state where the southern part is home to a great deal of fans who happen to be big fans of a team that resides right across the Delaware River - the Philadelphia Eagles.
Christie shrugs off backlash to his Cowboys loyalty
Gov. Christie says he has long backed the Dallas Cowboys, but his allegiance drew fresh attention - and ire from some Philadelphia fans - Sunday night when television cameras showed the New Jersey governor high-fiving Dallas owner Jerry Jones during a Cowboys win over the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
"The first thing I thought was, wow, I might actually not vote for him if I had the opportunity," Greg Shields, 24, of Drexel Hill, said Monday. "It rubbed me completely the wrong way."
He was one of a number of disgruntled Eagles fans who took to Twitter to criticize Christie's decision to sit with Jones and cheer on the enemy in Philadelphia territory.
That was a huge stink when people found out that Christie showed up to the Eagles game and sat in the box with Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones. Come on, I know the Eagles aren't from New Jersey but half his state are huge Eagles fans and Pennsylvania is a big swing state if Christie ever wants to run for President (Texas is not). It's one thing to be a Cowboy's fan but Christie pretty much called Eagles fans the worst. I understand that Christie's been a longtime fan of the Cowboys but there is a public leader can show class in such situations and then there is the way that Christie does it. Christie could never win Philadelphia and the reason that Republicans lose Pennsylvania is because of the overwhelming voter turnout we get from Philadelphia.

(181 posts)he just announced if he were elected President he would cancel all of the laws legalizing marijuana. Good luck with that stupidity.

(78,249 posts)The old Veterans Stadium, especially the notorious Section 700, was so bad that they actually had a court set up right in the stadium to do arraignments! Alas, I'm sure the new Linc has been sanitized, much like our Levi's Stadium.

(9,275 posts)My Repug co-worker (we get along fine and never discuss politics) wants to retire in a year or so, told me today that she would never vote for him because he wants to raise the SS retirement age. For that stance alone he is done.

(12,335 posts)When the Steelers were busy beating the "Cryboys" in 2 Superbowls during the 70's, some announcer dubbed Dallas "America's Team".
Pittsburghers did not take kindly to that.
Football alliances aside, I really don't think Christie would win the western part of PA either.

(95,337 posts)I still don't understand how they Cowboys stayed in the NFL East after the realignment other than probably Jerry Jones wanting to keep the rivalry with the 3 teams he's had them with the longest - the Redskins, the Eagles and the Giants.
They should have put the Carolina Panthers in our league and moved the Cowboys to the NFC South
