GoFundMe pulls donation site for MI Diesel Mechanic who would refuse gay customers

THANK GOODNESS!!!

I saw this story break about 2 hours ago and the first thing I thought is this idiot is looking to score a cash jackpot from all the sympathetic bigots through his own gofundme site the same way the pizza owners did in Indiana.

Everyone knows the story about the mechanic so I will just add the part about gofundme...

Michigan Car Repair Shop Owner Says He Will Turn Away Openly Gay Customers ... And That's Legal

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/16/car-repair-shop-gay-customers_n_7078370.html

A Michigan car repair shop owner said he will refuse to serve openly gay customers -- and, yes, that is legal.

Brian Klawiter is the owner of Dieseltec in Grandville, Michigan. On Tuesday, he took to Facebook to announce in a verbose post that he has no problem refusing to serve gay customers on the basis of religious freedom. (Guns, however, are allowed and customers who bring in their firearms are eligible for a discount.)

"I am a Christian," he wrote, in part. "My company will be run in a way that reflects that. Dishonesty, thievery, immoral behavior, etc. will not be welcomed at MY place of business. (I would not hesitate to refuse service to an openly gay person or persons. Homosexuality is wrong, period. If you want to argue this fact with me then I will put your vehicle together with all bolts and no nuts and you can see how that works.)"

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for Dieseltec, but it was eventually removed.

A spoof of gofundme where people can click on it and send a 'gof*ckyourself' message to bigots like that!

6. It's disturbing how blatant bigotry has become an acceptable marketing ploy.

Not even hidden behind the thin veneer of a "dog whistle".

Say some bigoted, vile thing and then play victim while fellow bigots line up to support your bile.

Starting up a GoFundMe page saying something like:

Hi I promote hate, bigotry, and exclusion. But before you freak out I promote it in the name of the bible. So everyone else out there is uses the bible to promote your hate and bigotry please send me money. And if you disagree with this and my "principles" then you are persecuting me. Please send me money to fight this "persecution". Thank you and "god bless".

I am seriously considering setting this up as a joke, granted it will get taken down. My only concern is would I be break any laws by doing this? Even if I do not accept any money that actually gets donated?

They did exactly what you predicted they would do. Glad GoFundMe slapped that down.

"I would deny gay people service! *wink wink* Now here's my Go Fund Me page!"

Are people stupid? The scam isn't completely obvious now? Memories Pizza pulled it off quite well, but I can't believe people are still falling for this bs.
