The dishonorable senator of Wisconsin is more worried about Dem ads if ACA is trashed by SCOTUs. Worse yet he thinks people covered under ACA with subsidies are "moochers & takers" of people's tax money. And it does not really matter to him if 185,000 Wisconsinites lose coverage. Even if some of them die as a result will "tough shit". It's their problem.
How is such a scum bag asshole get elected in the first place?

(42,641 posts)with a 52% turnout. He beat Russ Feingold 52% to 47%. That amounts to Johnson getting the votes of 27% of Wisconsin voters.
THAT is why he got elected, a small turnout and he outspent Feingold.

(34,661 posts)Just how in hell would these 185k make it? When the Krotch Bros. elected these numskulls you knew there would be a human price to pay. Read David Koch's Manifesto from 1980 the other day,and one of his so called Platform Items was, tough shit if you are disabled or in poor health, you die.

(2,682 posts)In March, 1984, Governor Lamm of Colorado said " People who die without having life artificially extended are similar to ''leaves falling off a tree and forming humus for the other plants to grow up,'' the Governor told a meeting of the Colorado Health Lawyers Association at St. Joseph's Hospital... ''You've got a duty to die and get out of the way,'' said the 48-year-old Governor. ''Let the other society, our kids, build a reasonable life.'' (NY Times 3/28/84)
It's only left to define "artificially extended". Does that mean heroic measures like heart/lung machines, or can it mean medicines to treat otherwise fatal diseases? In the current opposition to ACA, I believe it means ANY medical assistance.
This is what happens when individuals are considered liabilities instead of assets or even humans worthy of life. Republicans are so skewed to think of everything (objects, services, people) in terms of profits and losses, it's easy to see how they come up with ideas to cut people off life-affirming or life-saving policies if it isn't turning a buck for THEM. I am utterly revolted by Republicans and their lack of humanity.
