Tim McGraw trashed for playing Sandy Hook concert

Trashed for playing a benefit for the Sandy Hook NPO

/snip

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Tim McGraw is defending his decision to headline a Connecticut concert to benefit a Sandy Hook group, responding to critics who call it a gun-control fundraiser.

/snip/

seriously, the things people get worked up about. why should he have to defend is choice to play that benefit? if i was him, i'd tell all of his ammo-sexual, gun-humping fans, "because i'm not a dick, that's why."

They think it was a "false flag" from our government.

I see the same thing with people saying it about the Oklahoma City bombing, 20 years ago tomorrow.

The Boston Marathon bombing.

And 9-11.

Desperate, lonely people who are really bored with, or are very afraid of reality.

And in reality things happen.

Famous people get shot, by nutcase and zealots.

Others set off bombs.

If something can be used to kill or maim other people, it will be.

There's a lot of non-Alex Jones types, non-desperate, non-lonely people, not afraid of reality who read the neo con call for a new Pearl Harbor, gauged the evil residing in the White House, and just don't buy the official story, not that the government will ever release it.

These other events you mention don't have the same level of curiousness of circumstances

... that clearly showed showed successive explosions going downward floor by floor. That ONLY happens in controlled demolitions. There are photos of support beams sticking out of the rubble that are not bent and twisted, but sliced at 45-degree angles. That ONLY happens in controlled demolitions. There was an adjacent building, I think they called it "Building 7," that collapsed even though it wasn't hit by ANYTHING.

Oh, and jet fuel cannot burn hot enough to melt structural steel. if it could, planes would have considerable difficulty staying aloft.

It is not a conspiracy "theory" if volumes of evidence point to a conspiracy. And anyone that doesn't believe Cheney would have murdered innocent Americans to further his diseased agenda is a fool. The Neocon Bible, "The Project For A New American Century," is a blueprint for exactly this kind of unspeakable treachery.

Since you're willing to buy into anything, I guess you wont vote for Hillary since they've been associated with SO MANY "strange"deaths, right?
How about READING the conspiracies being debunked by a lot of people who know more than Alex Jones?
I guess you think a missile hit the Pentagon too? All the witnesses are liars? All the passengers were really flown out to sea and crashed, never to be seen again? Remote control aircraft that actually had NOBODY on board? Faked phone calls?

Its amazing that otherwise intelligent people think something of this magnitude could be kept secret by all would be involved for all these years. But I guess since Oswald didnt really do it, its possible right?

Most are about as credible as the "birthers" theories.
Phantom missiles, teams of strange men, disappearing people, fake phone calls, phantom explosives, etc etc.
Its obvious which story is the craziest, and it not the one where planes flew into buildings.
Bush was an idiot and Cheney is evil, but thats not reason to buy into all that crap. 14 yrs later, someone would've "talked" by now. Out of what would have to be hundreds of people involved.
thats the problem with TV and movies these days; they make people think the govt is capable of ANYTHING.
But you go ahead and have fun with it, since thats all you can do with it. Nothing else will happen with all the "evidence"

Yeah, it's totally impossible for a group of fundy terrorists to pull off an attack.
(The fact they kept their discipline and none of them spilled the beans is the quite rare exception to the rule.)

Conspiracies are fun. Real life is boring, and scary.

Science is boring, and scary also.

And science says 3 deliberately crashed jetliners crashed into 3 buildings caused all the damage.

There still are people out there with Lincoln assassination conspiracy theories.

This could go on for days. Your second sentence says it all: There is NO WAY that the number of people who would have to be involved to "fake" something of this magnitude would stay quiet for all this time. Especially the number of people and time it would take to rig a bldg like the WTC. I've seen a crew take 2 weeks to prepare an old smokestack demo. Any shot shows the top falling first.

You're right, people always demand an explanation for real life because they dont want to believe a lot of things are possible

The upper floors were built on to a building that couldn't handle it, and the whole thing fell.

So is it really implausible for a building to collapse, after internal fires had weakened (NOT melted!) the supports?
Of course it is not implausible.

to believe the nonsensical claims coming out of the "truther" movement, you have to pretty much suspend belief in reality.
Most claims are so far fetched it reminds me of the "Hillary killed Vince Foster" crowd 20 yrs ago. Disappearing passengers? Phantom missiles? Empty planes? Hundreds of faked witnesses? Faked phone calls? Faked radio transmissions? Come on, man!
Certainly you can believe anything you like, but NOTHING will ever come of it. Because there is nothing to it. I'm sure Oliver Stone will do a movie on it one day, and take artistic license with the facts like he did with his Kennedy movie, and people will believe THATS true, too.

... prove it.

I was highly skeptical of the so-called "truther" claims myself, until I saw the footage of the sequential explosions, and the fact that both buildings collapsed in their own footprints without toppling over. You claim there's an explanation for building 7, but you don't say what it is. And again, jet fuel, which is just extra high octane gasoline, cannot burn hot enough to melt steel. Can't happen, period. So that bald-faced lie makes reasonable people wonder what else they were lying about.

And methinks 7962 doth protesteth too much. You're so malicious in your comments that you sound like Sean Hannity. Oooo! Wait! Is that YOU, Sean? Can I have your autograph? I'm out of toilet paper.

Just what is your stake in this discussion, 7962, or do you just get off trolling people? And unlike you, I use my real name on DU. So what are you hiding, 7, ol' son? Or are you just baiting me? Well, you're pretty good at it, I'll give you that. In fact, I would say you're a master.

So gee, you're special. Why would I care WHAT your name is? And YOU are the accuser. You're accusing the government of setting up this attack. I accuse nobody but the people who hijacked the planes. You saw footage that proved nothing. If you really looked at the footage, you saw the bldgs fall from the top down, pancaking, which is exactly what anyone would expect. Shock waves push downward as the floors fall, just like 8th grade chemistry would teach you. You really think you could get people to fly into buildings voluntarily and be able to rig 2 of the biggest bldgs in the world with explosives? You dont have to MELT steel to WEAKEN it and it doesnt take a genius to know that, Rosie.
You want an explanation for #7? Did you see the picture of it with the bottom gouged out and the rest of it on fire? Read this:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/design/a3524/4278874/ There's your explanation.
So what about all the other ridiculous stories that have to be true for the others to be true? How do you explain them?
Truthers are just as ridiculous as the people who think the moon landing was faked.

It's perfectly understandable that, considering the position of power he was in at the time, many people might suspect that he was behind a 9/11 "false flag" operation. He's one of the very few national leaders who has been absolutely cold and devious enough for it to be absolutely believable. Even more likely is the belief that 9/11 was simply "let" happen. Plenty of suspicious events at the time to lend credence to that scenario.

People in Sandy Hook endured a tragedy that no one should ever have to endure. Their lives were changed forever and the pain they feel is a pain that will never, ever lessen nor go away.

I just can't think of the words to truly express my sense of total outrage against some fuckwad who would say a word against what Tim McGraw is doing. McGraw is attempting in some small way to ease their pain if only temporarily. He is showing compassion to people that need all the compassion they can get.

These complainers should be publicly pilloried and banned from society.
